I’ve been camping/hiking my whole life. I’ve never encountered that type of couple. Not even close.

But as someone else posted, there is fear behind being surrounded by people who may treat you like a petting zoo attraction or otherwise make you feel unsafe/unwelcome. These are real things I have experienced first hand and talk about with others who have gone through the same.
