Past presidents and this election

I know that our past presidents included people who were quite frankly racist and owned enslaved people.

I still wonder what they would have made of the current election.

I'd like to think Lincoln would have been a Harris voter - but I suspect the fact that she is a woman might have given him pause.

Pretty sure FDR would have supported Harris, no problem.

The R. presidents that I think would have supported Harris are Gerald Ford and Bush Senior. Not sure about Eisenhower, who I think would refrain from voting (and be anti-Trump in public).

I believe Washington would have been disgusted with the entire thing. But I think Jefferson would have been intrigued and possibly a Harris supporter.

Gerald Ford has much to answer for!

Franklin Pierce -- big Harris supporter

Chester A. Arthur -- would have worn a big Kamala t-shirt that said "Lotus for Potus"

Grover Cleveland was a notorious pussy hound and would have been a big Trump supporter.

Washington once spent an enormous amount of time, effort and money to capture and return to him an escaped slave. Jefferson fucked his slaves.

I have a feeling they'd both get along famously well with Trump.

I'm afraid you're wrong, r3. Grover Cleveland would have hated the prospect of not being the only president to run two non-consecutive terms if Trump won,. so he would have worn a pink pussy hat to signal his support for Kamala.

William Howard Taft would have done the same thing, but mostly because he thought it would look especially cute on him.

I really just pulled his name out of my ass because I'm high, but thank you for the history lesson, r5!

W was out to lunch, rode on his dad's coattails. Even his own mother didn't think he would be a good president, hence 9/11. Reagan didn't know which end was up and Nancy told him what to do. "Read My Lips" George H Bush was unlikeable. JFK was great so they killed him, he had progressive ideas which would have played well even now. Clinton was ok. Obama was good but got push back from the GOP which was unwarranted. Trump is an idiot. President Biden is a good man but old.

Washington was a gay supporter. He allowed Hamilton and Laurens to share a cabin at Valley Forge. He brought openly gay Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben here to train the troops. He would have been disgusted by a slovenly pig like Trump.

The most factually accurate yet historically blind statement I've seen recently.
