I now realize that he truly is like Patrick Bateman from American Psycho: a slick, polished “killer” who means absolutely nothing that he says.

Under his watch, California has become woefully dysfunctional. Homelessness has skyrocketed, drug addiction and lawlessness are rampant. We now have a $46+ billion budget deficit. Major insurers have fled the state, and premiums for both home and auto coverage are through the roof. He endorsed far-leftist DAs like George Gascon and insane pro-criminal initiatives like Prop 47, leading directly to the revolving-door criminal justice system we now have, and doesn’t have the integrity to admit that both were a mistake. He’s about to get a major slap in the face (electorally) on both. He talks a good game about solving our housing crisis but has done nothing meaningful to make California an easier place to build. New housing starts are actually down 36% this year in LA. And for all this, we pay some of the highest taxes in the nation. And Gavin wants to make them higher!

It honestly makes my blood boil to see Gavin going to Mississippi to campaign, talking about how terrible red states are. Really, dude? Why don’t you focus on the problems we have here at home? California still has an amazing economy and an embarrassment of riches when it comes to tech innovation, creative talent, cutting-edge medical research, and more. But we also have some of the most incompetent, virtue-signaling, do-nothing leaders in the country. It pains me to say that Gavin is the prime example of that category. He is handsome though!

I love that he's messy as hell, yet somehow still politically survives. He's a unique creature that could only exist in a place like California - the midwest would've run him out of town years ago. Helen Keller could tell that the marriage was fake, but whatever. I suspect on a personal level he's all style and no substance, but Nancy seems to like him (or not dislike him) and you know she doesn't suffer fools gladly.
