that doesn't involve Dracula.
Name a great vampire movie

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust - it's post apocalyptic Earth, so the original D is a distant ancestor. Bloodlust is a sequel to the first Vampire Hunter D anime film in the 90s, which is also poorer quality as expected. Very adult, very bloody, great stuff.

I don't know if I'd call John Carpenter's Vampires a great film, but it's fun as hell.

Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror - easily the greatest silent horror film
Lost Boys - sexy, campy, surprisingly scary.
Near Dark - the vampire as white trash. So much more disturbing than that description might suggest.

^ BTW, the Blade film universe only excludes Dracula if you skip the 3rd movie...and young Ryan Reynold's abs

Well, any movie of G’s is going to suck so just pick one, OP.

I mentioned this movie on another thread, but "Only Lovers Left Alive" is a really good vampire movie. It's more romantic than most vampire movies. But, it's creative and keeps your attention. The cast is great in this.

The Addiction (1995). Abel Ferrara movie starring Christopher Walken, Lili Taylor, Annabella Sciorra and Edie Falco.

That's a great movie, r11. I like the idea of a vampire living in a creepy Detroit mansion powered by a mini fusion reactor. I probably could have watched another hour of those characters.

I agree R17. I could have kept on watching it. I wish they had made it a series! I liked John Hurt in it, too. I loved the atmosphere of it. I really liked when Eve's sister shows up, and the way she aggravated Adam. " you drank Ian". Lol, he was pissed!

Innocent Blood. I'm not much on vampire films where the vamps don't have fangs, but this one was fun.

Brides of Dracula 1963. The vampire bites his own Mother and there is a great scene where an old witch urges on a new vampire girl to rise through the earth.

R29 Dracula isn't in it, or mentioned - only in the title. Hammer used the title as a lure. The vampire is the gayest vampire ever, Baron Muenster who delights when he bites Dr. Van Helsing, with a relish not shown when he bites a female.
