Martha Stewart says Ryan Reynolds is 'Not So Funny in Real Life'

Ryan Reynolds isn't going to let Martha Stewart get the last laugh.

The Deadpool & Wolverine star, 48, responded to Stewart's viral comments about him being "not so funny" off-screen as he is on-screen in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, Nov. 2.

After Stewart, 83, made the statement on Bilt Rewards’ November Rent Free game show about Reynolds, who she said is her neighbor in Bedford, N.Y., Reynolds wrote, "I’d disagree with her. But I tried that once." "The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so," he added.

During her Rent Free appearance, Stewart was asked by Bilt CEO and founder Ankur Jain which celebrities she thought respondents had named as the most fun to hang out with.

“He’s probably on the list just ‘cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face — Ryan Reynolds, is he one of those?” she asked, before adding: “And you want to know something? He’s not so funny in real life. No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious.”

After sharing that her personal picks would’ve been Brad Pitt and George Clooney — and mentioning the likes of Snoop Dogg and Taylor Swift — Stewart admitted she "would take Ryan off [the list], and I would put in somebody else."

“He’s a good actor,” the lifestyle guru further acknowledged of Reynolds. “He can act funny, but he isn’t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again ... I’m going to get in trouble."

Now his fake marriage to Blake Lively makes total sense.

They're both humorless cunts, in real life.

I wonder if he's similar to other comedians who are vile, nasty people in realy life, but hilarious when performing.

He may have great comedic timing and able to turn it on when he needs to for a performance, but doesn't bother in real life.

I can't stand him.

I love when an 83 year old can slap the brand right outta a queen. Long live Martha!

His response was deliciously bitchy. He could be gay after all.

I used to be blinded by his hotness but now I can't take five seconds of him, his voice alone makes my skin crawl

I remember watching an appearance of Lucille Ball on the Johnny Carson show years ago in which she said that she wasn't funny in real life. She said she was funny on the show only because she did the things the writers told her to do.

He has ugly facial features. Of course, Canadian ugly is different than American ugly.

I said this in the Blake Lively thread. He’s a Lucille Ball. Wanted to be a dramatic actor, became a comedic actor.

Watching his interviews, he’s usually not funny at all. He just has good delivery. Like the TV show “Friends”. It sounds funny but it isn’t.

Ryan Reynolds has never been in a high quality movie

by Anonymousreply 10November 5, 2024 8:28 PM

Does Martha think he's a HOMO in real life?

I do.

R26 Comedians? He's not a comedian

by Anonymousreply 12November 5, 2024 8:33 PM

Had he not maintained his smoking hot body throughout the majority of his career, he would be very low tier D-List these days.

He’s not a comedian.

by Anonymousreply 14November 5, 2024 9:10 PM

I thought she complimented him by commenting that he was a serious person off-screen.

I remember seeing him on TV as a kid on the show, "Hillside" or "Fifteen" on Nick and also on "The Odyssey."

The guy has been acting for a very, very long time. So it doesn't shock me when he knows how to turn "it" (his comedic persona) on and off or that he's also managed to make a series of very shrewd investments over the years.

Martha's words don't sound like an insult and sound more like she's just telling the truth. "Two Guys and A Girl" made him famous and he's been doing that same song and dance for decades but, now he can play action roles -- as long as he's being "funny."

I’d like to see the two of them in a cage fight.

by Anonymousreply 17November 6, 2024 3:25 AM

And she’s not blonde or even brunette anymore for that matter in real life, so there’s that.

by Anonymousreply 18November 6, 2024 3:41 AM

He's not funny in movies either.

by Anonymousreply 19November 6, 2024 4:34 AM

Just another of a million reasons why I love Martha!!
