Suggestions on Things to Watch on Streaming

I have a whole weekend to myself and just want to binge watch something. What do you recommend?

I don't like scary stuff.

please list the name of the show or movie AND the streaming site. Only listing one or the other isn't gonna cut it, kids.

Industry — Max/HBO

Nobody should respond. You’re fuckin lazy.

Huh?

Second vote for "Industry".

Also, if you have Apple TV and don't mind subtitles, "La Maison" is a lighter, soapier French version of "Succession" set in the Parisian fashion industry.

Deceitful Love on Netflix. Plenty of eye candy for gays, and some gay make out scenes. You won't be disappointed (in Italian with subtitles, with incredible scenery to go along with the eye candy). I'm hoping for a second season.

If the fashion industry is your thing, VELVET on PBS tells the story of a Madrid fashion house in the early '60s.

Lotsa melodrama, some sex. Subtitled. From Walter Presents.

So many recommendations around these parts. Say perhaps what interests you and some of these queens may offer a decent suggestion. I for one never thought The Traitors (all versions) would be so fun.

I had never even heard of it but I really enjoyed AlphaHouse. 21 episodes it is available on Freevee is you don't have Prime

Four Republican senators share the same D.C. house rental, and face re-election battles, looming indictments, and parties -- all with a sense of humor.

Hundreds of Beavers on Prime. It's a modern silent film about an Apple Jack salesman.

AlphaHouse is 10 years old with an amazing guest cast… Bill Murray, Amy Sedaris, Cynthia Nixon. I’m surprised it’s so unknown. I’ll check it out.

r24 -- the epIsode watched last evening had Don Alberto get kabonged on the head during a robbery of his office. The thief who rifled the office safe was hired by his evil step-mother! Ay-caramba!

Still Up on Apple TV.

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow has a guest appearance on the final episode playing herself. Joy Reid also has a cameo.

Outsiders 33 episodes streaming on Prime, Hulu and Tubi.

It is a little off beat but I enjoyed it, because I am also a little off beat but not like these people. It is about a community of outsiders who have lived on a mountain in Kentucky that they don't own for hundreds of years, they purposely keep themselves separate from the communities below except to steal from them. A coal company owns the mountain they call home and wants to level the mountain to get to the coal and the people in the communities below want the jobs that the coal company will bring. The people who have lived on the mountain for years won't leave and promise to fight to the death. Conflict and drama ensues.

A beautiful Korean movie on Amazon "Road to Boston" about a Korean teenager who runs the 1947 Boston Marathon, the first international sporting event post WWII. It's like a Spielberg movie in its style, and is a mix of "Chariots of Fire" and "Rocky". I loved it.

Fellow Travelers on Showtime/Paramount+

by Anonymousreply 30November 3, 2024 9:24 PM

The Outlaws - Group of criminals sentenced to 'community service' - with Christopher Walken. Created by Stephen Merchant who also co-stars. Free on Prime. I'm only in the middle of the first season but enjoying it so far.

Line of Duty on Peacock. It's a British crime series.

by Anonymousreply 33November 5, 2024 6:35 PM

I started Fellow Travellers, and it was very well made, but it really was of the "Life's a bitch and then you die" genre.
