There are times I don’t want to think or be challenged by a movie. Today it’s Gone Girl.

Bright lights… big city

When I want to turn my brain off I watch something from the "broke middle class people doing illegal things collection". Fun With Dick & Jane (the original) or How to Beat the High Cost of Living. Plus, I like the comfort of 1970s suburbia.

Twister or some random Jason Statham movie. I wanna do unspeakable things to him before he gets too ripe.

OP, Gone Girl is a great movie. It even got a Best Picture Oscar Nomination.

R8- Agreed--
The Banger Sisters IS crummy.
I was going to correct the OP, but I was not feeling cunty enough!

I watched half of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle last night. Nick Jonas had just entered the picture, so I'll probably watch the second half at some point. The movie is crummy.

R8. No, it didn’t. Pike, yes; pic, no.
You’re not helping

I don't watch films, crummy or otherwise. Waste of time.

But I never miss a chance to be sanctimonious about them!

Supergirl. So bad but it has Faye!

R4, I would not call Less Than Zero a crummy movie.
I watch a lot of sleazy, trashy and just downright weird movies, but I'm fascinated by grindhouse/arthouse crossover and the development of the horror genre. I don't think of them as crummy, per se. As I would interpret it, a crummy film is indifferently made and ugly to look at.

OP, Gone Girl wasn't horrible. I thought Rosamund Pike deserved the oscar.

St. Elmo’s Fire. Bad movie filled with underwritten stereotypes. But, I’m nearly the same age as the actors, it’s fun to see them young, and it takes me back to that time in my “life on the edge.” Yeah, right… The wretched dialogue is so quotable:
Sheedy and Nelson’s “you fucked many” scene
Nelson, to Sheedy, while rescuing Moore: “did you invite ALL your lovers?"
Mare Winningham’s peanut butter and jelly monologue

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
…acknowledged as the worst of all Trek films (at least with the original crew), but it will come on in the afternoon on weekends while I’m cleaning the floors and I don’t have the heart to change the TV to something else to leave running in the background. The score/soundtrack was actually pretty good.

"The 13th Warrior," with Antonio Banderas and a bunch of Vikings in a vague retelling of Beowulf. In the same vein, "King Arthur" with Clive Owen.
