A Public Health Dept in Idaho Banned from Giving Covid Vaccine
It's a first in the US.
Politics over health.
"A regional public health department in Idaho is no longer providing COVID-19 vaccines to residents in six counties after a narrow decision by its board.
Southwest District Health appears to be the first in the nation to be restricted from giving COVID-19 vaccines. Vaccinations are an essential function of a public health department.
While policymakers in Texas banned health departments from promoting COVID vaccinesopens in a new tab or window and Florida's surgeon generalopens in a new tab or window bucked medical consensus to recommend against the vaccine, governmental bodies across the country haven't blocked the vaccinesopens in a new tab or window outright.
"I'm not aware of anything else like this," said Adriane Casalotti, MPH, chief of government and public affairs for the National Association of County and City Health Officials. She said health departments have stopped offering the vaccine because of cost or low demand, but not based on "a judgment of the medical product itself."
The six-county district along the Idaho-Oregon border includes three counties in the Boise metropolitan area. Demand for COVID vaccinesopens in a new tab or window in the health district has declined -- with 1,601 given in 2021 to 64 so far in 2024. The same is true for other vaccines: Idaho has the highest childhood vaccination exemption rate in the nationopens in a new tab or window, and last year, the Southwest District Health Department rushed to contain a rare measles outbreak that sickened 10."

Personally, I don't care if Idahoans die from Covid19.

What ever happen to choice? This is the freedom they are taking about. You should have the freedom to have it if you want. The Republicans hate when people are free.

They don't really mean freedom.

The citizens of Idaho who would seek the vaccine are not the MAGAts.

The Republican version of "freedom" is "How can we force people who aren't rabid conservatives to adhere to our beliefs, or else."

The nation's future if Trump wins and RFK Jr. gets the HHS cabinet position.

From the article's comments section, it says it all:
"Yeah--everyone can just 'do their own research'--that is, check out their favorite websites. And now we're looking at the truly horrifying specter of Trump winning and picking RFK Jr. for head of HHS. And even with thousands of deaths from this 'n that down the road, the true believers won't budge. I look forward to bringing back H. flu meningitis!!! Or the real jackpot--polio!!!"

RFK JR would get rid of the HPV vaccine which would result in tens of thousands of deaths from cervical cancer.

And that’s just his mistresses R12.

If Trump wins and appoints RFK Jr to head the HHS you can expect a ban on all vaccines before the end of his term. Say hello again to serious diseases and deaths from like polio, measles, mumps, chicken pox, Hep B, Diphtheria, tetanus.

Let these white supremacist assholes kill themselves off!

[quote]wtf is wrong with these people??
These Idahoans are batshit crazy ultra-MAGAt/sovereign citizen/Nazi white supremacists, R8. Further, Idaho is where the batshit crazy Mormons go when their cult kicks them out or wants them to just disappear. These loons believe that the coming civil war/societal collapse will leave them the sole survivors and they will rise to re-populate the USA in their whiteness. They're virulently anti-women, anti-gay, anti-everything other than straight white male Christians. The scary part is that they engage in war games and all sorts of activities that would leave you chagrin. They are armed to the teeth, many have military training, and work in LE. It is downright terrifying.
My brother's nextdoor neighbors' little girl, whom I have known since she was born and was my niece's best friend growing up, married into one of these white supremacists families, and her husband is creepy to the max. He wears the uniform: Carhart dungarees, a skin-tight Fred Perry black polo with the yellow piping, the steel-toe black leather boots and a buzzcut head. Sadly, he's quite handsome and built, and did not at all like the way I was looking at him when my brother had a barbeque and invited their entire family over.
Later, I was chatting with my brother and sister-in-law and said "Does you think (his name) is creepy?" and the floodgates opened with all of the problems the neighbor family has had with him. They've begged their daughter to divorce him, but my niece said he's threatened her that if she leaves him he'll kill her. They now have two kids themselves: a little boy of about 4 and an infant. My brother witnessed this jerk "parenting" their little boy, intervened, and told him that if he ever sees him treat the child like that again, he's calling CPS. I said he should have just done it because no child deserves to be raised in that kind of environment.
Stay away from Idaho, specifically the northern panhandle.

Idaho has a clue. No one else does. All of these booster-loving imbeciles are going to die from the shots. You really can't fix stupid.
Great move, Idaho!

Go after and forbid vaccines for kids and adults and leave people taking a significant or somewhat significant of antibiotics every time they have sex alone.
In what world might that exist?

They'll change their tune when the effects of this hit home. That's the only way they understand anything; it has to affect them personally.

r30, thinks being a human pincushion and following what others say instead of figuring it out on their own is superior.
It has hit home. All the fake-"vaccinated" people that derided others for being "dirty" are DEAD. Those of us who did nothing are 100% HEALTHY.
