Most of the Doc is about Shelley's Altman films and her working relationship with him.

Wasn't her diagnosis schizophrenia when Dr. Phil aired her story (to her expense and his own profit)? My understanding is that schizophrenia usually sets in between your teen years and your mid 20s. Is it possible to become schizophrenic in your 40 without it being drug induced, like stimulant abuse?

Although Duvall's incident with Dr. Shill is mentioned, (comically!), the documentary focuses mostly on her early film career. It's for real film enthusiasts.

It is an extremely loving portrait.
