What would you like to see Biden do with his final few months in office?
Frankly, I'd like to see some movement on foreign intervention in regards to elections, national security, and government contracts.
Why the shit has Elon Musk been allowed to keep enormous government contracts with security clearance when he is not only in direct contact with Putin, but actually taking marching orders from him on Starlink?
What's going on with TikTok? What's going on with those DOJ RT interference cases?
Look, j'adore Biden--greatest president we've had since FDR. But he is way too soft on foreign policy/national security. Seriously, Biden--get Bibi in line, get Ukraine ANY damn thing they need, and get Russia and China out of our twats!
Anyway, what would be on YOUR honey-do list for Biden?

Some somebody twice as smart as I
A somebody who will swear to be true
As you used to do with me
Who'll leave you to learn
That misery loves company, wait and see
And that's when I'll discover that revenge is sweet
As I sit there applauding from a front-row seat
When somebody breaks your heart
Like you, like you broke mine

Jail the Orange stain and his buddy Elon Morelock Musk. Get real about climate change. Take subsidies from the petroleum companies and enact a war time construction act that builds, with the help of the military, the green power industry and utility companies, a state of the art energy grid that covers the US from tip to toe. Bring into existence like they did with the crash of 2008, the money to populate that grid with wind and solar farms and batteries. Ban the sales of new petroleum powered everything. Retool to run on electricity everything that it is possible to do so. Give everybody an electric car that wants one. jail congress members indefinitely in Guantanamo bay Cuba, unless they move to abolish the electoral college system and replace it with one person one vote. R85 He represents Maryland's 8th district. Something tells me they won't have a problem replacing him with another democrat when he's up for re-election in 2025. In fact, I can't think of a single dem in congress that would be safer for Harris to snatch up.
"Maryland's 8th congressional district is concentrated almost entirely in Montgomery County, with a small portion in Prince George's County.[3] Adjacent to Washington, D.C., the 8th district takes in many of the city’s wealthiest inner-ring suburbs, including Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Potomac. It also includes several more economically and racially diverse communities, the most populous of which are Rockville and Silver Spring.
Politically, the district is heavily liberal. It has consistently sent Democratic representatives to Congress by wide margins since 2002. In 2020, Joe Biden won nearly 80% of its vote. Democrat Jamie Raskin has represented the seat since 2017."

R87 Love Jasmine Crockett, but she only has a year under her belt in congress and three years total in politics. And frankly, she just doesn't have an impressive enough legal resume. She got her JD at the University of Houston and was a public defender. No shame in any of that, but it's not US AG material. I think she's doing her best work taking on MTG.
Raskin was a senator for 10 years, a congressman for 7 years, a constitutional law professor for 25 years at American University Law School (where he co-founded and directed the LL.M. program on law and government and co-founded the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project). He's a Harvard Law grad. And he was the lead impeachment manager for the second impeachment of Trump after J6.

Maybe he is right now in the process of negotiating a deal to offer Trump a pardon if he makes sure not to start any shit. Joe won't offer a pardon out of weakness. Trump will have to earn it. It would be a transaction. And accepting a pardon is an admission of guilt. I don't know why, but I just get a sense that Joe is up to something regarding Trump. I think he wants Kamala to have a smooth transition with no bullshit. If members of the MAGA Congress try to start some shit Joe will deal with them harshly.

^ That's nuts. First of all, the rotten pumpkin hasn't been convicted of anything yet that Joe could pardon. by Anonymous | reply 99 | November 2, 2024 7:50 PM

Also, R98, not having a VP for a few weeks wouldn't be the end of the world and without constitutional remedy.
If something were to happen to Harris in the time before inauguration day, the speaker of the house is next in the line of succession and would become the interim president. If that "something" that happened to Harris was death, Walz would be sworn in instead on inauguration day and would have to choose a new VP which Hakeem Jeffries would he responsible for approving.
Pretty much no one thinks we won't be winning back the house.

R102 Right, so that could be the first thing done in session on the 3rd.
If a president's VP dies or is forced to resign, it's not like said president is only given 24-hours to replace him. There is a next in line of succession in place should anything happen to POTUS, and that is the speaker of the house.
