The stupidity of that statement was breathtaking: there is environmentally crucial and delicate and vast swath of limestone stretched between the cities - it’s part of the Edwards Aquifer - and it would be impossible and hugely destructive to build a 90-mile tunnel here. In other words, Gates is less evil than Musk by far, Cuban less evil than Gates, Soros and Buffett seem fairly decent, etc. They may lie but they have also done good things, unlike Musk who has done absolutely nothing positive for the world.
