People, events and language that Gen Z don't know.

I mentioned David Bowie in my Swiss college classroom this week. 100% blank stares. David Bowie lived in Switzerland for 20 years. Does American Gen Z know Bowie?

They only know what Gaga told them. Or because they bought the collector Barbie.

BOWIE IS A GOD!!! I played Bowie all the time when I was working from home.

Bowie, Prince, all the Jazz greats, R&B greats, Led Zepplin (no stairway to heaven).

Disco of course!!

Bowie was pretty much over by the early 90s. He then disappeared.

Bowie’s music didn’t age well.

Bowie is one of my gods for sure. But, yeah, it does seem like he's faded out of relevancy.

Happens to most. Even most of the greats.

Rick Beato did this video on the four bands that will be popular in fifty years based on current streaming numbers. He concluded that it will be The Beatles, Nirvana, Queen (all of which I guess correctly) and The Police (which I did not).

Which means no Bowie or Led Zep or Pink Floyd or Stones. It was kinda shocking to me to think that those icons of my youth are on their way out.

Bowie music is the "essence of life"

Diamond Dogs was my theme song on my way to destroying my life with "homo sex, meth and rock& roll".

it didn't happen but not because I didn't try.
