Plane Fight Breaks Out Over Woman Wearing MAGA Hat

It's just a fucking hat. I hate magats and they could all die for all I care but it's not worth getting riled up over them wearing the brand. At the very least it lets me know to avoid interacting with them in any manner.

I don't need to spend 5 hours staring at a MAGA hat.

Well this happened in London.

People can wear what they want - but they also know that they can expect dismissive or rude replies if they are offending people. MAGA hats are offensive - they are a symbol of hate for many people.

I think there's more to this story - I can't see someone getting on a plane and demanding somebody take their hat off without something else happening.

I loathe MAGA 100% but the red cap, in and of itself, is not so offensive that a traveler should be prohibited from wearing it in public.

The anti-MAGA woman was wrong on this one, though if they both got physically assaultive then they both get ejected.

MAGA is the same as wearing Nazi paraphernalia. There’s no difference. Trump said he admires Hitler and wants his government to be more like Hitler’s.

A person who disrupts a flight because someone else is wearing a cap needs to be taken to a psych ward.

Wearing a MAGA cap on a flight headed to Austin is roughly akin to wearing a pro-Harris/Walz t-shirt on a flight to Palm Beach: both are guaranteed to stir shit up. (And while we progressives aren't idiotic enough to visit hostile territory unless it's life or death, MAGAts clearly are.) While I agree that it's ridiculous to get THAT riled up over a cap, I can't really say I'm surprised, at least in this case.

I wear my Harris/Walz accessories only within the confines of my liberal city. To do otherwise would be rude on my part, as I do not wish to provoke and raise the already hyper-political temperature when outside my "community."

I wear nothing political and have no political indicators of any kind adorning anything of mine. I don’t discuss politics either (except on an anonymous message board). Politics is the same as religion - it should be kept private.

This election is literally about whether we can save democracy or have a fascist dictator.
