The 10% score and $100 million loss on Borderlands wasn’t enough to tell her to move on
She also had Rumours come out this month. Directed by Guy Maddin about the G7 leaders. It's a small release with a box office of 544K. Oh well, it's tough being a middle-aged actress these days. At least she sold out the initial release of tickets to The Seagull which opens in Feb 2025 in London.

Disclaimer seems to be getting good reviews. The New Boy was probably the most offensive thing I've ever seen.

Did anyone ever pick up The New Boy for US distribution?

I've never been enamoured with her acting.

Honeychile, Cate and Nicole have their Oscars, now they're all about getting their coins. If someone is willing to pay a 55 year old woman $7 million dollars for 4 weeks work, and it doesn't involve sexual degradation, she'd be a fool not to take it.

^^^ I wonder who this is NLI

She was great in Blue Jasmine and Notes On A Scandal. What the hell is happening to her career?

Rumours is terrible. Saw it two weeks ago.

Is that Asian fellow at the bottom center Cate's latest role?

She's always been bad at picking scripts. Like Meryl, she tends to pick those with good parts, not those which are good scripts.
I've watched most of Disclaimer (there are still one or two episodes yet to drop) and I'm not crazy about it. It's one of those that, if the structure were linear, would be entirely uninteresting. It keeps teasing Something Terrible Happened, and it takes forever to find out exactly what. Meanwhile, in six episodes nobody has allowed the Cate character to give her version of the story, in a manner that feels very contrived, so I'm expecting a twist in the last episode when she finally does. I don't have high hopes of this twist.
Greta Scacchi's daughter plays the young Cate. She would be convincing as a young Cate if we didn't know she looks exactly like the young Greta.

She’s got bills to pay!

I thought she was going to retire after Tar? Or was that just her Oscar pitch?

Zoe is box office poison. Time to have her face redone again.

She comes across so actressy and pretentious. I prefer tilda she does it right by me.

R1 I saw her play Nina in Sydney prior to Oscar And Lucinda. In the last scene, her performance was such that I took Konstantin to be the Seagull. I guess it was a feminist power move on her part.

She almost won a third Oscar for Tar until she scuppered her own chances with some speech about the patriarchy and not wanting to win anyway

At least Cate did not win the Razzie this year -- it went to Dakota Johnson for Madame Web. Interesting week for Cate -- listed on the Epstein flight logs and getting dragged on social media. People who saw the Seagull this week said that she's singing, dancing, smoking, does the splits wearing jeans and takes off her shirt while saying Daddy. Curious to see the reviews for this reimagined Seagull script.

R17 is she wearing a bra or letting the tits fly free? Cate has never done nudity in a film
