Who's watching Netflix's 'Deceitful Love' ?
Just finished this six episode Italian series on Netflix, and can't wait to watch it over again. Well acted, well scripted - and plenty of eye candy for gay guys with a constantly shirtless Giacomo Gianniotti (some great ass shots, too). He shares two gay kisses with adorable actor Francesco Del Gaudio , who shows us his hairy chest plenty of times in the series. Sexy Emanuel Caserio has more delicious gay scenes with his 'secret lover'. Not enough shirtless or ass scenes of him. Excellent work from each of these three studs.
The storyline is intriguing, as the viewer doesn't know who to side with throughout the show. The cast is so believable in their roles, starting with the leas actress Monica Guerritore (I need to see more of her past work now!).

Loving it. Like a cross between Douglas Sirk and Mr. Ripley with some Almódovar thrown in.
Rich gorgeous frequently nude Italians in a rich gorgeous Italian town. Great escapism.

I just wish Giacomo did some full frontal in the series. Wow - is he incredibly sexy.

Thanks Op for the recommendation. I am now in episode 3 and quite enjoying it. The scenery is almost as sexy as the guys.

There arre rumors that there will be a Season 2, as this series has gotten great feedback and doing well on Netflix. I hope so - there is so much more that can be explored (like a clandestine sexual relationship between Nico and Elia).

I heard Giacomo Gianniotti was a semi-regular on 'Grey's Anatomy' a while back (I never liked / watched the show), but is there anything else he's been in that anyone suggests I watch ? Preferably, streaming. Thanks ! I really like his work - very good actor.

He's currently on some shitty CW show "Wild Cards" playing a detective or something. I've never seen it BUT I am fairly confident it blows.

I just tried to watch it. Fast forwarded between skin scenes for two episodes. It's horrible.

Basically a lifetime TV series with nice scenery.

I also thought it was horrible. The gay relationship (son and cop) was the most interesting part of the series. They should have shown dick, though.

I'm watching this now based on a recommendation from the thread that I linked to. I'm on episode 4 now. Well, the background music is certainly dramatic. So dramatic to the point that I was laughing aloud. This is beyond camp and campy writing. The worst of the worse soap operas have been written better than this. Each episode must have been written the night before shooting.
Although it's a great role Monica Guerritore and a paycheck. How many lead roles like this are out there for an actress of her age, no matter how badly written? It's also a fantastic project for Giacomo Gianniotti. It's obvious that his and the camera man's assignment was to catch every and as many sexy, mysterious, angles possible to sell the character.
I always wonder how such an awful project like this gets greenlit and funded so well for production when there is so much other amazing and talented work out here.

Really?
Mmph...
I tell ya... this is written so badly (IMHO) that I looked up who was the writer and was floored when I read that it was a TEAM of women writers! Wow.... Maybe the primary objective was to make it so bad that it's good? I mean... I did watch all 7 or 8 episodes

Is the British original (GOLD DIGGER, with Julia Ormond and DL Fave Ben Barnes) any better?

I couldn't tell you, R17. I read somewhere that this production was based on that. Even without seeing the origins I would argue that it was that production that was used to sign up the cast. I would HOPE that the original would be better. But then again, were I the writer of the original script I would sue this team of writers for malfeasance. Once again, maybe the objective was to make this so bad that it's good. Or, there was one helluva of an Editor that saved the project. NetFlix bought the licensing rights to it and I've made 3-4 posts about it!
A sex or nude scene seems to happen right at points when a viewer could be ready to throw their hands up and shut it off, or a very deep close-up shot of Giacomo Gianniotti continues to draw you in and back. A lot of camera and set design trickery is used, for example... to make (and build the anticipation and excitement of) Giacomo Gianniotti appearing full frontal naked, the shot will show his full chest nearly down to his pubic level and legs to near the point of ball sacs. The "money-shot" is conveniently obscured by a plant and/or a bowl. As he comes into the scene he's wearing underwear. So, many tricks like that are utilized.
