Will this be his Oscar? You know the Academy loves biopics.
Ugly Bruce.

Jeremy Allen White is Gene Wilder in The Bruce Springsteen story!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 28, 2024 11:12 PM |
Booo. Doesn’t look a thing like him. Where’s the chin?
Bruce was sexy, Jeremy Allen White is… interesting looking. They could’ve chosen better.

He would have made a good Bob Dylan. Do with that what you will.

Springsteen is a good looking guy. Boo!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 28, 2024 11:15 PM |
This will be such a flop. No-one outside of the US cares about Bruce Springsteen. He was on Graham Norton the other day and went down like a lead balloon. Also Springsteen talks like he's got a brain disorder.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 28, 2024 11:16 PM |
and there's just absolutely nothing interesting about him. I know their genres are completely different but it reminds me of ONJ. You can love her with all your heart, and I do, but I would never buy a bio by her or go see a bio pic of her. Both of them led their off stage life very much away from the spotlight and anything that would have made this type of thing interesting. I mean what do you want to learn about Bruce?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 28, 2024 11:18 PM |
His autobiographical show was quite a hit on Broadway.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 28, 2024 11:27 PM |
Sam Palladio, who was in the TV show Nashville, is who should play Bruce. He looks like him and he can sing.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 28, 2024 11:35 PM |
I think he resembles a younger Bruce actually. Not a dead ringer but I can buy this before Timothy as BD. Jeremy also can carry a role convincingly.

Who is foisting the completely uncharismatic, homely, mid talent Jeremy Allen White on us, and why?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 29, 2024 12:05 AM |
Bruce Springsteen was hot AF and had a strong sexual energy. Jeremy Allen White is a troll.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 29, 2024 12:58 AM |
To R4-You are kind of correct!! He is a "Dylan" type.
To R11, the same people who "HOISTED" GAY TIMOTHEE on the American public but JAW can act.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 29, 2024 1:15 AM |
What is it about Jeremy Allen White that is so 'unique' looking?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 29, 2024 1:16 AM |
If Dustin Hoffman and Gene Wilder had a baby and passed on just their bad genes - you'd get Jeremy.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 29, 2024 1:19 AM |
R14 bug eyes, big nose, weak chin combo?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 29, 2024 1:34 AM |
Too soon for a Springsteen bio pic.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 29, 2024 2:07 AM |
Bruce didn't and doesn't have a rat face.
Will they do AI?

[quote]No-one outside of the US cares about Bruce Springsteen.
Bruce is huge in Europe. He sells out football/soccer stadiums in country after country. Bigger than he is in the States, in fact. (And bigger than Jeremy Allen White.)
That said, I can't see this film being a hit. Too niche, even for his fans.

The Academe LOVES biographical moving pictures!

If he was younger, Ben Affleck would have been a good choice.

Did anyone ask for this?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 29, 2024 3:16 AM |
Did Springsteen suffer enough to give an actor a meaty enough role to win an Oscar?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 29, 2024 3:16 AM |
Dylan and Springsteen are still alive. Their biopics don't stand a chance at awards [See: John, Sir Elton].
"Maria," on the other hand.....
R21, Before they got sick of them.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 29, 2024 5:35 AM |
R24, "Suffer enough"? Bruce is from NEW JERSEY! He played gigs at the SHORE! He had to deal with a DIVORCE from a MODEL!
How much more can one man TAKE?!

[quote]Did anyone ask for this?
How many of the big budget films of the past year did anyone ask for?
Does any sane person ever ask for a biopic of an entertainment celebrity? (And if so, what the fuck is wrong with them?)
Did anyone ask for every house, new or old, to be painted inside and out, top to bottom in grey? With floating engineered simulated woodgrain pattern, also in grey?
Did anyone ask for a Taylor Swift? For COVID?

Rocketman won an Oscar and two Golden Globes.
I'm looking forward to both the Dylan and Springsteen movies.

Not much point in watching a “young Bruce Springsteen” biopic if you sit there feeling no urge to fuck him.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 29, 2024 12:37 PM |
R29, For SONG! Pardon me for being vague, but in the context of the thread I was thinking of Best Actor/Actress categories.

A Bruce without sex appeal is like making an Elvis bio without the sex. Makes no sense
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 30, 2024 5:42 AM |
I'd rather see a decent biopic about George Harrison. He was an interesting guy.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 30, 2024 6:00 AM |
Jeremy Allen White was very good on Shameless. Why no honors for him then?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 30, 2024 6:24 AM |
I would suck his dick all night long.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 30, 2024 6:35 AM |
He was the little black boy from the old jack in the box commercials-so cute.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 30, 2024 7:48 AM |
Really, r32 (comment about Elvis)?
Rami won the Oscar as Freddie, yet IIRC no gay sex was shown (was there even a kiss?), and even AIDS was barely alluded to. At least in "Elvis" we see him collapse from drug use and in bed with groupies.
