Does the Lincoln Project actually buy air time on conventional broadcast or do they just crank it out via Twitter?
And if so, have they done a Donald's not well spot yet?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 31, 2024 7:50 PM |
They have been running TV ads in the Mar-A-Lago area aimed at him.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 31, 2024 8:09 PM |
They run ads in key markets. They've got some up in PA, at least.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 31, 2024 8:12 PM |
The Lincoln Project runs great ads, but they're a mixed bag themselves. Although clever, the ads are very cheap to make, and LP does not often buy quality air time running the ads where they'd do the most good.
Most of the money raised by the LP goes right into their pockets. I wouldn't necessarily call them grifters but....I wouldn't disagree if others did.

None of this will happen if he wins.

[quote]Donald Trump is lagging Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania early voting with a critical and once-reliably Republican constituency: seniors.
[quote]The data is in line with polling in the state that has shown Trump shedding support among older voters. His remarks about Liz Cheney made me nauseous. I’ve said many things about her and her dad but his comments are so vile and so vivid and coming from a former President they are a gut punch. Before Tuesday he’s going to come out and say he’ll kill Kamala if he wins. We cannot live with this much darkness for the next 4 years. The grievances of a New York billionaire who inherited everything, such a victim!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | November 1, 2024 11:35 AM |
Trump desperately needs the votes of Republican women who feel more aligned with Liz Cheney than with him, and they’re a small % but they are absolutely out there. And they vote.
This is a huge “little” mistake he just made, in a neck and neck election.
Just 4 more days…
by Anonymous | reply 49 | November 1, 2024 11:48 AM |
Is Trump losing seniors, too? Keep in mind this is Frank Luntz, longtime GOP pollster.
[QUOTE]In Pennsylvania, where voters aged 65+ have cast nearly half of early ballots, Democrats account for ≈58% of votes cast by seniors, compared to 35% for Republicans.
[QUOTE]That’s despite both parties having roughly equal numbers of registered voters aged 65+.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | November 1, 2024 12:30 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 53 | November 1, 2024 1:34 PM |
This is the end. It's like a glacier calving. Every day from now until Tuesday he will do something to destroy whatever focus his campaign might have commanded.
The Cheney remarks will dominate the day. Media will talk of nothing else (Joe is in a secure location, isn't he?) and you can't both-sides this. They tried with garbage v. Nazis but no Democrat has said anything that compares with guns aimed at Liz Cheney's face. They are fucked. And it's the weekend.
People will tire. If she shrewdly keeps pounding the theme: it doesn't have to be like this she can push it over the line (if in fact she hasn't already.)
He will keep doing this. He is panicking. He sees jail in his mind.
I don't say she's won it, but how can she not now? Even if they polled as supporting him, there are, in that group of people voting Republican people enough with at least a shred of deceny in them big enough to turn away, even if it's just writing in or staying home. What he says matters less than that he keeps saying something new and awful. It's training. People are surely tired.

His handlers aren't just handlers. They're conspirators. They are putting through a plan Trump himself might not be aware of, (helpful if he isn't. It gives him plausible deniability).
Stop The Steal 2024. Promote as many polls favorable to Trump as possible. Allow Trump to continue to rant whatever the fuck he wants. (claiming he's winning. A claim he may or may not actually believe himself). But that's irrelevant.
This way, it will be easier to get Trump supporters to violently protest come the day after Election Day.
Why do people, even here, continue to give Trump and his supporters the benefit of the doubt? In this case, the benefit that they're just humoring or placating him? They know exactly what they're doing!

Donald Trump shouldn't have run again. He could have been touring the country doing his schtick at rallies that the MAGA faithful would still turn out to see. He could bitch about winning in 2020 and share his commentary on America's political scene for hours on end, complete with the 'nicknames' he comes up with for people he dislikes. They'd buy his MAGA merchandise and the grifting could continue unabated. But no, we all have to endure a third election with him as a candidate, attempting to bring back that first term chaos with a side of authoritarian fascism. How the fuck did we get here?

The writers of the 22 Amendment had no idea that a Buchanan would arise to use the term he lost to raise an army to take down the government. The 22nd Amendment needs to be amended: One and done, two and done or (I believe that after a Clinton, Obama duo) THREE and done.

Excerpt from Political Wire:
…”Now, Selzer is back with another shocker: her latest poll shows Kamala Harris leading Trump in Iowa by three points, 47% to 44%.
This poll is a genuine bombshell. Iowa has been assumed to be safely red, not even a battleground. No one—not even the campaigns—expected it to be even slightly competitive.
It’s just one poll, of course, and even the best in the business produce outliers. Selzer is extraordinary, but she still works within the bounds of statistical variance.
However, if her numbers are even close to accurate, this election could look very different than the nail-biter many predict. If Harris is truly close in Iowa, it suggests she’ll win the three Midwestern “Blue Wall” states as well.
If she wins those, she almost certainly wins the presidency.
A caveat: There isn’t much corroborating evidence yet, though a Fort Hays State University poll in Kansas recently showed Trump leading in that solid red state by only five points and a Miami University poll in Ohio that shows Trump only up by three points. And Harris looks likely to easily win Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district.
Of course, Selzer might also be wrong. She might just be one of the few pollsters willing to publish an outlier in a field where so many pollsters tend to “herd” toward the consensus.
But if she’s right, she’ll be the first to uncover what many have suspected: That the polls have dramatically underestimated Kamala Harris.…”

by Anonymous | reply 100 | November 4, 2024 3:25 PM |
It depends on two things. First, how badly he loses. Second, so many Republicans have broken ranks in support of Harris, the party is truly in disarray, internally. MAGA and the remnants of Republicanism before Trump hate each other and more don't trust each other or have much use for each other. Hard to see how they unite under a twice defeated candidate who single handedly did more to lose this election than anything or anyone else.
If I'm an old time Republican active in the party in Washington, a defeat is the best opportunity to break his hold. The last great future of the party freak was probably Palin, right? Look what happened to her. Forgotten. A discredited joke. Fortunately, he's so fucking awful, he can't be replicated. His TV fame was a big part of getting his ball rolling. Nobody else has that.

I think Republicans will just move on and pretend none of this happened. They did that after the George W. Bush failed Iraq War/botched Hurricane Katrina response/Great Recession. They did it again when Romney lost to Obama (remember Romney's GOP post-election autopsy?)
They're basically incapable of self-reflection and accepting that their policies and candidates are unpopular. It's because they They are privileged white men that think they're righteous. [quote]Trump describes the most pressing issue facing us today: gangs stealing refrigerators.
Get your story straight r91: it was 500 THUGS out stealing the refrigerators, on their BACKS no less! They just ran in there and took them! Another example of our once-great nation completely falling APART.

Were the pets inside the refrigerators???
by Anonymous | reply 126 | November 4, 2024 9:33 PM |
Just the leftovers.
by Anonymous | reply 127 | November 4, 2024 10:51 PM |
There was roadkill in the refrigerators so I ate it

It’s over …he will get AZ. She will get the Blue Wall plus 3 out of 4 among NV, NC, GA and IA.
by Anonymous | reply 129 | November 4, 2024 11:31 PM |
His rallies have had meager audiences lately. Donald you're done and millions will celebrate.

Magic 8 ball: he will get AZ. She will get the Blue Wall plus 2 out of 4 among NV, NC, GA and IA.

Last rally ends with him calling Pelosi a bitch. Can we name something in SF after her asap because nobody has gotten into his head like this. After everything that has happened, she was the one still on his mind at 2 am on 11/5/24 - not his family, not even his alleged shooting.

MAGA world is convinced they are going to win and win big. They are all telling themselves it will be a blowout and that the only way Dems can win is by cheating.
But if Trump loses, he will lose fair and square. Here's a little thread to explain exactly how:

Is it me, or do you have to be logged into that Afrikaner site to see that thread?

You’re missing nothing—run of the mill commentary by no one important

It's actually a good thread, predicting a Harris win. If you don't want to go to ElonLand, you can read the thread here.
by Anonymous | reply 137 | November 5, 2024 3:46 PM |
It’s nothing you haven’t seen from dozens of “commentators”

Ellen Freene not only showed up and sang "Somewhere That's Green" at the Out for Kamala event yesterday, she's also finally showing some signs of ageing, bless her. That's a damned good run for a pale blonde.

Tiffany tries to make Donny seem pro-choice; gets slaughtered.

Ellen is 73. She looks amazing!

Fake Melania was with Trump today, standing next to him wearing giant cataract glasses (probably because she doesn't have the sqint eyes like the whore). If I were a reporter, I would've asked her a question to expose that she is the fake Melania.
by Anonymous | reply 142 | November 5, 2024 7:26 PM |
That was def fake Melania. Also telling, he implied he wasn’t going to the convention center to wait out the vote.
by Anonymous | reply 143 | November 5, 2024 7:53 PM |
Link to fake Melania please
by Anonymous | reply 144 | November 5, 2024 7:55 PM |
Here you go r144, from the other thread. Too smiley and too relaxed, IMO, to be real Melania.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | November 5, 2024 7:59 PM |
R144, here you go. She always wears sunglasses. Note she’s wearing them indoors.
by Anonymous | reply 146 | November 5, 2024 7:59 PM |
R140 "My father......my father.....my father........"
Get your own material, BITCH!
by Anonymous | reply 147 | November 5, 2024 8:10 PM |
Gawd. Fake Melania is a dowdy 50s style dress. In the footage of the press conference she doesn't move, eyes covered wIth sunglasses, no facial expression. It's like a hostage/sex doll. Such a contrast to the type of femininity that Kamala exudes.

The village in Scotland where Trump's mother came from thinks highly of him, and he's been invited for tonight's bonfire night.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | November 5, 2024 8:27 PM |
Trump is a McCleod on his mother’s side. At one point they were mass bonfired in Trumpan Church, which led to the battle of spoiling dyke.
I know this sounds like I’ve made it up, but it’s oddly true.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | November 5, 2024 8:48 PM |
MacCleod, not McLeod
And of course MacDonalds was involved.
by Anonymous | reply 151 | November 5, 2024 8:50 PM |
Spoiling dyke-another DL legend is born!
by Anonymous | reply 152 | November 5, 2024 8:55 PM |
There is an image of Malaria in the voting area where the lighting is better on WAPO. Maybe they had a scuffle and the shades are covering a bruised eye - or something. Laura Benanti - who resembles Melanoma but is far prettier, can sing and has a effervescent personality is featured in this YT clip of her on Colbert.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | November 5, 2024 9:45 PM |
Isn't real Mel taller than Trump with heels on? Fake Mel isn't and seems roomy in the hips. Also profile seems off.
by Anonymous | reply 154 | November 5, 2024 11:09 PM |
And remember the 2026 Midterms begin tomorrow.
by Anonymous | reply 155 | November 5, 2024 11:32 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 157 | November 5, 2024 11:35 PM |
R146 Do you think the fools there clapping like seals are in on the fake Melania gag or are they really that stupid.?
by Anonymous | reply 158 | November 5, 2024 11:49 PM |
His education plan:
Defund public schools
Push prayer in schools
Etc.
You broke it, you bought it, America!
