Why does my cat become very rubby and affectionate when I play audio on my devices?

I have a British shorthair. The BSH is very stubborn. It's not the most cuddly cat breed. Now that my cat is 7 years old I have noticed she wants more cuddles. She wants to be pet more frequently. She has never been a lap cat, but now she even crawls into my lap. She has become so sweet. She has always been very active and playful. She still is, to some extent, but she has calmed down, thankfully. And she kneads more and more. She hardly ever did it before, now she can do it several times a day.

R6 - it's mostly newscasts, or audio from news shows. No singing or music, unless way background.

The BSH sounds like a coquettish prize, r8! I'd never heard of the breed. It looks like a tiny, 🐻 🐈 , with a better disposition. The tiny ears!

R9 It's a sweet cat, but it can be very stubborn and independent. If I had to choose again I would have probably gone for a more cuddly cat, like the Ragdoll. But at least she is more cuddly now. What is the most annoying thing about this breed though is the shedding. I have never seen a cat shed this much. Ugh. I chose this breed because it's a shorthaired breed, so I figured it would be more hygenic and shed less. Turns out this breed has double coated fur. Ugh. The shedding is insane. There's hair everywhere. I need to vacuum at least once or twice a week.
