DL, I want to live in the western hemisphere. What’s your take on that hemisphere?

“Tip the world on its side and everything loose will land in Los Angeles.”

I could live anywhere in the world I choose, and I choose California.

Born and raised in Los Angeles.
It has its flaws, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

California is not perfect, but it’s much better than most places in the U.S.
Plus, our MAGATS can no longer afford to live here, so they are streaming into Texas and Arizona. Thats a plus.

It was once one of the most beautiful places on earth. Now it's a shithole, much like Florida.

Only within 5 miles of the coast. That is the golden strip. The rest of Cali is rednecks and trailer parks.

I was born and raised in the Bay Area, moved to No. VA for 9 years (from the late 70s to the late '80s), but came back -- to southern Calif. this time. I couldn't stand the summers or the winters in the East. I guess if you grew up with it, it's OK, but it's not for me.

I love California, my sister lives in San Diego. I'd love to move near her.
However - one odd thing - I'm in Sacramento for work often, and I have never in my life seen so many homeless people. It's shocking. The Capitol building is so beautiful, but to walk through that park you have to maneuver through so many homeless.

I am apoplectically allergic to snow shovels.

R9 if you were homeless where would you migrate to?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 27, 2024 7:38 PM |
R8 Rarely do I hear people from Northern Cali complain about it, but that’s what I always hear from Soutthern Californians. They just can’t get over how harsh our seasons are. I’m like bitch it’s called weather and most of the country has it lol.

I live in Southern California, and we have two season: (1) seven months of summer and (2) the rainy season.

R5, there are PLENTY of MAGATS in California (especially the parts of Cali that don’t include LA and the Bay Area).
I love living in Cali, despite the many detractors.

Yes, and a lot of them are moving to Texas, Nevada, and Arizona.
They are quite huffy and vocal on departure, so it’s clear to the rest of us why they are leaving. Interestingly, they seem to feel they are “owed” a 4-BR house, which is 1.5M plus anywhere you’d want to live in CA.
Rather than work harder, they just huff off to Texas where they can buy such a house for $400K, but then their power bills are $2000 / month.

I love California and wouldn't live anywhere else in the world. Our weather is perfection and our scenery is out of this world. In LA we have the greatest variety of world food anywhere, and it's affordable and easily accessible. Californians are friendly and open-minded. I've been here close to 40 years and I'm happy to call it home.
