Pete Davidson Shows Off Nearly Bare Arms After Removing His Tattoos

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, the Saturday Night Live alum, 30, stepped out to attend the sneak preview of The Room at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif. — and for the first time, fans got a good look at what seems to be a more pared-down look for the comedian.

Posing with rapper Machine Gun Kelly, Davidson can be seen with mostly bare arms — a stark departure from his previous look, which included tons of small tattoos up and down his arms.

He also wore a red FDNY T-shirt that featured the organization’s logo, followed by “Fire Dept. of New York,” presumably in honor of his late dad, Scott Matthew Davidson, an N.Y.C. firefighter who died in the 9/11 attacks in 2001.

Davidson first announced that he was embarking on the long-term journey to remove his tattoos in 2020, when he revealed that he had already begun tattoo removal from his hands during a Q&A for his film, The King of Staten Island, according to film critic Mike McGranaghan, who had been in a panel with the cast.

During a 2021 episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, the stand-up comedian confirmed his decision, saying at the time that his budding film career prompted him to pursue tattoo removal.

"I honestly never thought that I would get an opportunity to act and I love it a lot," Davidson told host Seth Meyers. "It takes, like, three hours — you have to get there, like, three hours earlier — to cover all your tattoos. For some reason, people in movies, they don't have them that much."

A few months later, the comedian gave an update to PEOPLE about how the removal process was going and said that he hoped to be done with it by age 30.

"I get my next treatment [in] like a month or so. They said by the time I'm 30, they should all be gone. So they got like two more years left of this," he explained.

By January 2023, Davidson was photographed shirtless while hitting the beach with his then-rumored girlfriend Chase Sui Wonders. He had removed even more tattoos by then — including all of the ones he had dedicated to his ex-girlfriend of nine months Kim Kardashian.

The Bodies Bodies Bodies star had a "My girl is a lawyer" tat (in reference to Kardashian passing the baby bar in December 2021) and the initials "KNSCP" (Kardashian and her four children's initials — North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm, whom she shares with her ex-husband Kanye West). He also had the names "Aladdin" and "Jasmine" and an infinity sign, inspired by the pair's 2021 Saturday Night Live sketch in which they kissed for the first time.

This appearance in Inglewood marks one of Davidson's first public appearances in months. In July, Davidson checked into a wellness facility for his mental health, PEOPLE reported. Prior to that stay, he sought treatment to address issues related to PTSD and borderline personality disorder in 2023.

I'd give his pinga a good suckin'

by Anonymousreply 1October 26, 2024 11:35 AM

Maybe he can convince Machine Gun Kelly to do the same.

It’s nice to see all the distraction is gone from his arms.

by Anonymousreply 2October 26, 2024 11:36 AM

I’m glad he’s doing this—he looks so much healthier—but it sounds extremely painful.

Colin Farrell and Mark Wahlberg had their tats removed too. Actors should really think twice before inking up.

Madonna at R1

The pain of the removal is as satisfying to this damaged schmuck as the pain of getting them done. It releases endorphins which give a temporary lift from his mood disorder.

another 'look at me i've totally changed my whole identity' gimmick lie from a bpd monster. never ever trust or show mercy to people with bpd.

Lorne Michaels did this guy a huge disservice by coddling him and giving him a huge platform not commensurate with his talent. I use the word "talent" loosely here.

We know. It's in every story done on him.

Let's hope this is the start of a huge trend amongst the tatted up.

by Anonymousreply 9October 26, 2024 1:45 PM

Shame he’s still stuck with that face - and he always looks smelly.

by Anonymousreply 10October 26, 2024 1:49 PM

He's cute

by Anonymousreply 11October 26, 2024 1:51 PM

Any nudes?

by Anonymousreply 12October 26, 2024 2:12 PM

That’s an indicator that he’s better mentally.

by Anonymousreply 13October 26, 2024 4:14 PM

Please let this be a trend. Let's get rid of all these trashy tattoos.

Hell of lot easier to refuse them in the first place, no?

by Anonymousreply 15October 26, 2024 8:15 PM

Gross.

by Anonymousreply 16October 26, 2024 8:23 PM

Remove him from my brain

by Anonymousreply 17October 26, 2024 8:42 PM

It’s a vast improvement.

by Anonymousreply 18October 26, 2024 8:53 PM

R9, I’m not so sure that would be beneficial to the non-tatted: as it is now, we get a clear visual warning that a heavily-tattooed (and/or pierced) person might have some pretty deep-seated psychological/personality problems. Red flags are helpful if we don’t ignore them.

by Anonymousreply 19October 26, 2024 9:01 PM

R9 your comment speaks to what MGK has done to himself. Poor guy.

Don't ever get a tattoo. Don't even get one if we cannot see it.

by Anonymousreply 21October 27, 2024 12:51 AM

I'm having two small ones removed and it is fairly painful. Can't imagine having big ones done.

by Anonymousreply 22October 27, 2024 1:21 AM

I hope Pete Davidson can avoid an early demise but given his travails and lifestyle, if I were a betting man I wouldn’t bet against it either.

by Anonymousreply 23October 27, 2024 1:49 AM

Was it ever determined what his beef with Colin Jost was?

by Anonymousreply 24October 27, 2024 2:59 AM

What’s that? Suck Pete’s dick or remove his tattoos?

by Anonymousreply 25October 27, 2024 3:22 AM

That's great. Now, if he could have them do something about that face he'd be a winner.

[quote] Pete Davidson's Tattoo Removal Journey Has Him Looking Like A Different Person

This week, the actor stepped out to preview The Room at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, looking barely recognizable with most of his once signature tattoos now gone.

If you recall, Pete reportedly started removing some of his 100-plus tattoos in 2020 because of how long they take to cover for movies.

"It takes, like, three hours," he explained on Late Night with Seth Meyers. "You have to get there three hours earlier to cover all your tattoos, because for some reason, people in movies, they don’t have them that much."

"Burning them off is worse than getting them," he added. "Because not only are they, like, burning off your skin, but you’re wearing these big goggles, right? So you can’t see anything and the doctor’s in there with you."

As a result, the doctor would have to call out tattoos to determine which one to remove, which Pete called "really embarrassing."

His tattoos have included cartoon characters, words like "wobbly" and "goon" as I learned while researching this post, and matching ink with past girlfriends.

"I’ll just be sitting there all high off of the Pro-Nox — which is actually quite fun, I enjoy it — and then all of a sudden I’ll just hear, 'Are we keeping the Stewie Griffin smoking a blunt?'" the 30-year-old said. "And then I have to sit there and be like, 'No, Dr. G.'"

At one point, Pete's arms were nearly covered in tattoos, but as you can see from the pics here, the ink is now almost completely gone.

I mean, what a difference!

I guess, Pete did say he wanted to have all of the ink gone by 30.
