I realize there is more to being a great musical theatre performer than just a singing voice, but neither of them do anything for me in that regard.

Fans haven’t talked much about Hugh Jackman’s love life lately. He and ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness seemed to have settled into their post-divorce life amicably and everyone went their separate ways. Still, there was a whisper about a possible fling with his former Broadway co-star in December 2023 that came and went without too many people noticing. Now, things have changed.

On Tuesday, Oct. 22, Sutton Foster filed for divorce from screenwriter Ted Griffin after 10 years of marriage. The 49-year-old actress and her 53-year-old estranged husband share one child, daughter Emily, 7. That’s when those rumors about Jackman began to resurface. If you’re wondering how they met in the first place, they starred together in the revival of The Music Man from December 2021 through January 2023.

Page Six claimed that they’ve spoken to numerous sources who confirmed that Jackman and Foster “have fallen in love.” One insider alleged, “They are 100 percent together and are in love and want to spend the rest of their lives together.” If that rumor turned out to be true, then the musical theater duo would have done quite a stealthy job hiding their romance for several years. “They are still together,” a second source said. “They go out of their way to hide it, but it’s common knowledge.”

The news of Jackman’s divorce from Furness in September 2023 shocked Hollywood because their 27-year marriage was considered one of the most solid unions in the entertainment industry. In January 2024, the 68-year-old actress reflected on the changes in her personal life. “It is kind of exciting,” she shared to the Daily Telegraph. “You know what, change, transition, evolution is a little frightening and we are all a bit scared of it, but I think it is probably our greatest gift.”

When the rumors began circulating last year, neither Jackman nor Foster addressed the situation. There is no way the Jackman marriage broke up because he and Sutton wanted to be together. If her rep is as bad as you say, if that was the case he'd surely have wanted her marriage over before or at the same time as his--not wait two years to see if she'd do it, while acquiring the rep of someone sneaking around behind her husband's back? If Deb found out he was sleeping with Sutton and raged off out of the marriage, why wasn't Sutton's husband alerted by the gigantic headlines?

What's all this "they go out of their way to hide it" stuff? It was talked about when Jackman's marriage broke up. We discussed it on here. (We said Sure, Jan then too.) The fact that that was nearly two years ago and it hasn't been talked about since is why Insiders need to say "they're trying to hide it but they're sooo in love!".

Either Deb found someone else that nobody wants to talk about, or Deb got the kids off her hands and decided she was over it but nobody wanted to explain what "it" was. Hugh being famously such a lovely guy, what could a middle-aged wife be over? Or Hugh found someone he was serious about and who was available, but nobody wants to talk about it.

I can't make the logistics work if the Hugh/Sutton story is held to be true.

R12, Jackman "officially" separated in September 2023, Foster had to have separated at least by October of 2023 to be able to file for divorce now. So it was probably at the same time. Since those filings are private, her publicist probably told Page Six she filed for divorce in the first place and for all anyone knows, Jackman is already divorced.

Does anyone else remember the poster who said that Jackman's relationship with Furness was based on dominance and submission with Deborra taking on the dom role? Palermo was brought on as a third. I wish I could remember particulars. I don't think the poster gave many other than she was a driving force in his career.

It kind of makes sense considering his mother left the family in Australia, moved to England, and started another one there. I saw an interview where he was asked about this. He tried to keep it together, but couldn't. I don't think he was acting. He was quite young when he met Deborra and the age difference is actually 14 years, not the initially reported seven. Yeah, mother issues.

Hugh likes sex with men and has always had a boyfriend on the side. It was his personal trainer for many years. You would often see them together in the West Village hanging out.
