Harmony Korine's "Gummo" (1997) has entered the Criterion Collection

I've always been afraid to watch it because everyone says it's the grossest movie ever.

Watched it about 12 years ago after convincing some friends to give it a go on a Movie Night. We all hated it.

I think it's a masterpiece.

Chloë was great in it

R4 all of the scenes with Chloë’s character and her sisters are gold. When I think about it, I suppose she is a large part of why I enjoy both Gummo and Julien Donkey-Boy—her performances in both are fantastic.

Kids was disturbing enough.

Oh wow, this is the only movie I've ever walked out of, in a state of total disgust.

I'd loved Kids and had persuaded my friend to go see it with me, and while he finished watching it I sat in the lobby and waited.

I’ve never seen Gummo. Gross how?

Filmed in Xenia, Ohio. So it’s pretty spot on. The only thing the film is missing is couch fucking.

No, it was filmed in Nashville, r21. It's set in Xenia, however.
