He was one of those guys from my youth that was on all the talk shows day and night. Extremely attractive. But like others said a very non-offensive comforting personality. I remember him as the type that sang everybody else's music.

Carson really was kind of a nasty guy apparently. I don’t think drinking too much helped either. He was estranged from his last wife at the end of his life- apparently few friends and minimal effort to have any. Very private so who really knows.
