You would know who he was if you were a Southern Californian lesbian of a certain age, r1.

R2 - Hi Donna! Loved you in Knots Landing!

Fuck off, R1 -- and shout-out to my fellow Southern-Californian lesbian of a certain age at R2! Fernando really was a legend. I have an 8x10 of him that my father had in his office (looking up to the sky mid-windup). It's not autographed or anything....my dad just had it because he (and we) loved him so much. I think you had to have lived through Fernandomania to really appreciate it.

News sources are not giving a clue as to why he died, only that he had been ill for a while.

Yet, Manny Mota goes on.
Do they still play this song every time the Dodgers win?
RIP Fernando.
