The leaders of China, India and Turkey are there.

The summit is being held in Kazan, a city in the Russian republic of Tatarstan.

How many of you lot could point to Tatastan on a map.

How many Republicans are attending?

by Anonymousreply 1October 22, 2024 12:22 PM

Russia wants that land corridor all the way to Turkey, come hell or high water.

Is it within drone range of Ukraine?

Is Tartarstan the home of Tartar Sauce?

by Anonymousreply 4October 22, 2024 12:27 PM

I knew a Prince of Kazan at Le Rosey. Direct descendant of the Tartar King of Kazan. They lost their power to the Tsars of Russia but retained their wealth, mostly through land in real estate in Switzerland and Austria. Tall smooth blue-eyed young man with auburn hair.

It's funny that India should be attending this "summit," given that millions upon millions of their people have moved to the US, Canada, and the UK.

Same goes for China.

FUCK CHINA and INDIA!

Turkey's NATO membership makes this interesting. We really need Erdogan to age out.

by Anonymousreply 7October 22, 2024 12:44 PM

I've never been to Tatastan, but I was the Mayor Bazoom City.

by Anonymousreply 8October 22, 2024 12:55 PM

Yes, R4 dear. Yes it is.

Tempted by a city break in Tatastan? You can amble around the Leninsky Gardens, swing by Kazan Town Hall, maybe make plans to take in a show at the Saydashev State Big Concert Hall.

Then there's the Karavon festival. This colorful festival has been going on for more than 300 years and is allegedly attended by people from all over the world ! The celebrations begin with a joyful church service followed by a lively dance. During the dance, the circle changes size, making it a unique and captivating experience.

Local lingo:

Privét! = Hello!

Poka! = Bye Bye!

Sounds charming, R5. I'm sure he could dance the 'Karavon' like nobody's business.

R3, it's 700 miles away according to the article R2 posted

Also from that;

[quote]Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates were allowed to join earlier this year.

No surprises there. Iran and Russia are closely allied particularly, with Iran supplying many of the drones and missiles used against Ukraine

[quote]Turkey's NATO membership makes this interesting. We really need Erdogan to age out.

R7 I'd rather the cunt died quickly, the faster the better for the Turkish people and the world at large, ditto the cunts running Iran

No Kim Jong-un now that he's sending troops to fight in Ukraine? This an interesting analysis about how it may backfire on Putin.

[QUOTE]Sending North Korean troops to Ukraine could be a serious mistake for Putin for a number of reasons, one of which is the active position of South Korea. Seoul has declared its readiness to begin providing direct military assistance to Ukraine, including the supply of 1/12

[QUOTE]artillery, tanks and other modern weapons. South Korea is one of the world's largest defense powers with a powerful military-industrial base, whose products are in demand all over the world. South Korea's decision to join the conflict could significantly change the balance

I'm surprised to see Egypt on the list at r12.

by Anonymousreply 14October 23, 2024 6:39 PM

Egypt is significant. I believe Putin's goal in Ukraine is securing a land corridor that will link Russia to Turkey, from where Russian arms can be shipped to Northern Africa. Egypt has refused to open the Southern Gazan crossing for refugees and may be seeking alliance with Putin against Israel and the US.

The US believes 3000 North Korean troops are now in Russia

Lee Seong-kweun, a lawmaker on the South Korean committee, said Pyongyang authorities had tried to keep news of the deployment from spreading. “There are also signs of North Korean authorities relocating and isolating those families [of the troops] in a certain place in order to effectively control them and thoroughly crack down on the rumours,” Lee said

Yes, it's amazing how so many Indians don't want to live under Modi. Indian immigration to Western countries has been one of the biggest success stories.

António Guterres is also at the summit. The fucking cunt.

We should be more like Tatarstan. They really are looking for our best interests.

by Anonymousreply 18October 23, 2024 8:56 PM

I imagined a Soviet era dump, but there are some very luxurious restaurants in Kazan
