I LOVE this new no-makeup trend!

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with their makeup-free ventures, but once I hit menopause even light makeup - minimal eyeliner, slight concealer, and some blush - became impossible to maintain because it tended to slide off my face during particularly challenging hot flashes. And if it wasn't just one bad episode, the toll would accrue over a couple of hours of smaller ones. Impossible to keep up with. How did Southern women do it?

Everything is big in Texas, including spatulas used to apply makeup.

They both look fine, just different. Drew never met a trend she didn’t LOVE because it totally changed her life and will change yours too!!!

I think Pam Anderson looks better without makeup.

Pam looks fine if a little bit washed-out. Blondes typically have low-contrast features— hair, skin, and brows all being the same tone can look somewhat anemic. Drew is looking sallow/liverish.

I don't care about the specific women in question other than to do my best to ignore them, but a trend of less or more subtle makeup on women wouldn't be the end of the world - a world that has tipped a bit far into Kimberly Guilfoyle territory.

Shame Pam nuked her eyebrows all those years ago. If she had fuller brows this look would be more flattering on her.

I think most women day to day wear very little makeup.

Millienials seem to be the most into makeup where I live. They also all wear eyelash extensions. Gen Z either wears too much or none. Gen X loves botox and fake lips.

R24, the Sephora near me is always swarming with little kids now, which is weird. Are 10 year-olds really buying $50 foundations and $100 moisturizers? I never see anyone older than 30 in that store. Maybe they do all their makeup shopping online.

I think it's a nice message and they all look lovely.

Sephora has cheap masks and bath bombs that aren't makeup but more self-care/pampering, which is what I think the under-30 crowd are more into.

R27, teens are definitely buying the expensive moisturizers and makeup. TikTok made them do it.

Also points and things like face masks and doing each other's makeup are huge for girls, gays, and theys with disposable budget.

I've pulled back on makeup a little bit in the last few years. I'm 60 now, but won't go out without wearing a least some light makeup. I won't go out unless I've touched my hair up, either.

I've never worn make-up -- but then again, I'm a lesbian.

The stupid stuff straight women do often amazes me.

I think if I was a woman I would have a few simple go tos makeup-wise day to day... not the crazy contouring stuff. As a guy, I even have a few skin care things here in 2024.

Their faces look fine but why is Drew's hair so greasy? That's just gross looking.

False eyelashes used to be something only models/actresses wore daily and ordinary women might wear on special occasions. Now you see it on office workers. Sometimes so thick and un-subtle that you wonder how they can keep their eyelids open.

Contouring only seems to work on camera. I have never seen anyone in real life look natural with it, and some women really overdo it.

If Pam isn't wearing concealer then she has had massive amounts of laser work to even out all the splotches of sun damage.

I think they look great. Anderson was always a real natural beauty (already on Home Improvement). Much better than what Madonna is doing to herself at any rate.

Valerie benefits from having high-contrast coloring and a round face that makes her look younger than her age whether she wears makeup or not. The glasses, hair, and apparent weight loss helped as well. Drew looked pretty haggard in comparison.

During one season of Mary Tyler Moore they inexplicably didn't have Mary wear either eyeliner of false eyelashes (don't remember which) and it's distracting and continually looks like something's missing. Makeup on women serves its purpose by enhancing beauty, and actresses don't look quite "right" without it on screen. This trend, if it lasts, will likely remain strictly among the has-beens looking for publicity.

Must've been a later season of MTM. In the early seasons, she looked really old-fashioned, even for the time. Her hair was like a helmet. She had super-heavy eyeliner and false eyelashes. The trend at that time had already swung to a more natural look.

there was that one episode where she won a Teddy Award and her false eyelash fell off and her hair wasn't cooperative, but I don't think that's what you mean.

Even 'no makeup' looks still require makeup. A certain type of straight man will go on and on about how much he prefers women who look 'natural' but the women whom these guys cite as natural beauties are invariably wearing eyeliner, mascara, blush, foundation, brow tint, lip color, etc.

After a certain age, makeup does nothing for a woman and can even make her look worse. That age can vary.

But even younger women look like refined clowns if they go too far, IMO. A little base for coverage I get, but I don't need to make my face the Las Vegas Strip.

The dark-framed glasses are actually helping Valerie's face, giving some structure.

If I were ever invited to appear on a similar program I would still wear makeup and just deny that I had any on.

I do hope the false eyelash trend is about over. I don't see it as much in NYC but was in upstate NY a couple of weeks ago and all the teenagers had these ridiculous eyelashes.

Most women come up to about my shoulder. Every time I go someplace wearing a dark suit jacket it always gets smudged with some lady's face makeup from hugging me. So I am all for this no makeup trend.
