I'm sure you bitches will be having none of this.
I'm not sure if this has anything to do with their makeup-free ventures, but once I hit menopause even light makeup - minimal eyeliner, slight concealer, and some blush - became impossible to maintain because it tended to slide off my face during particularly challenging hot flashes. And if it wasn't just one bad episode, the toll would accrue over a couple of hours of smaller ones. Impossible to keep up with. How did Southern women do it?

Everything is big in Texas, including spatulas used to apply makeup.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 22, 2024 6:36 AM |
Rgads. Women are just pale, insipid little things.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 22, 2024 7:04 AM |
As are men.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 22, 2024 7:10 AM |
They both look fine, just different. Drew never met a trend she didn’t LOVE because it totally changed her life and will change yours too!!!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 22, 2024 7:13 AM |
I think Pam Anderson looks better without makeup.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 22, 2024 7:15 AM |
OK, but not everyone at once
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 22, 2024 7:25 AM |
R1, try using a primer and setting powder as needed.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 22, 2024 7:32 AM |
Valerie Bertinelli was also there and looks like she has lost a lot of weight.

Agent Scully has mascara on.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 22, 2024 7:46 AM |
Agreed, R11– she’s either got false lashes on or is using mascara.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 22, 2024 7:49 AM |
Pam looks fine if a little bit washed-out. Blondes typically have low-contrast features— hair, skin, and brows all being the same tone can look somewhat anemic. Drew is looking sallow/liverish.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 22, 2024 8:18 AM |
I don't care about the specific women in question other than to do my best to ignore them, but a trend of less or more subtle makeup on women wouldn't be the end of the world - a world that has tipped a bit far into Kimberly Guilfoyle territory.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 22, 2024 9:13 AM |
Shame Pam nuked her eyebrows all those years ago. If she had fuller brows this look would be more flattering on her.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 22, 2024 9:19 AM |
Go put on the barn paint ASAP!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 22, 2024 9:28 AM |
Women that wear those oversized glasses always look so fucking stupid. So half of those women in R17's photo look like fools. Most don't even need glasses. They just wear GIGANTIC fake glasses.
Is that Gayle King? She has severe underbite.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 22, 2024 11:33 AM |
Does this mean Drew will be ending her Flower makeup, line featured at Walmart? Or did it already fail years ago like her other many ventures.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 22, 2024 11:55 AM |
[quote]"I don't want people to think of me as the other, all those cartoon characters I kind of created for protection, that's what I think I did it for."
The gigantic silicone fake boobs made her look like a cartoon character, not makeup.
Anyway, these particular women seem bored out of their minds.

I think most women day to day wear very little makeup.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 22, 2024 12:51 PM |
Millienials seem to be the most into makeup where I live. They also all wear eyelash extensions. Gen Z either wears too much or none. Gen X loves botox and fake lips.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 22, 2024 1:23 PM |
r5, right, they all look fine, possibly plainer, but nothing more than that
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 22, 2024 1:23 PM |
Millennials are addicted to makeup tutorials on YouTube (and all the drama that goes with it).
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 22, 2024 1:33 PM |
R24, the Sephora near me is always swarming with little kids now, which is weird. Are 10 year-olds really buying $50 foundations and $100 moisturizers? I never see anyone older than 30 in that store. Maybe they do all their makeup shopping online.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 22, 2024 1:33 PM |
I think it's a nice message and they all look lovely.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 22, 2024 1:35 PM |
Sephora has cheap masks and bath bombs that aren't makeup but more self-care/pampering, which is what I think the under-30 crowd are more into.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 22, 2024 1:36 PM |
R27, teens are definitely buying the expensive moisturizers and makeup. TikTok made them do it.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 22, 2024 1:50 PM |
I love this too. Someone should send it to this TikToker
by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 22, 2024 2:01 PM |
The Sephora/Ulta industrial complex is massive. I'm convinced some or many of these younger people are heavy consumers. Thanks social media.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 22, 2024 2:05 PM |
Also points and things like face masks and doing each other's makeup are huge for girls, gays, and theys with disposable budget.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 22, 2024 2:08 PM |
I've pulled back on makeup a little bit in the last few years. I'm 60 now, but won't go out without wearing a least some light makeup. I won't go out unless I've touched my hair up, either.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 22, 2024 2:26 PM |
I've never worn make-up -- but then again, I'm a lesbian.
The stupid stuff straight women do often amazes me.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 22, 2024 2:34 PM |
I think if I was a woman I would have a few simple go tos makeup-wise day to day... not the crazy contouring stuff. As a guy, I even have a few skin care things here in 2024.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 22, 2024 2:37 PM |
white people look so old for their age
by Anonymous | reply 37 | October 22, 2024 2:45 PM |
Their faces look fine but why is Drew's hair so greasy? That's just gross looking.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 22, 2024 2:54 PM |
False eyelashes used to be something only models/actresses wore daily and ordinary women might wear on special occasions. Now you see it on office workers. Sometimes so thick and un-subtle that you wonder how they can keep their eyelids open.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 22, 2024 3:28 PM |
Contouring only seems to work on camera. I have never seen anyone in real life look natural with it, and some women really overdo it.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 22, 2024 4:43 PM |
If Pam isn't wearing concealer then she has had massive amounts of laser work to even out all the splotches of sun damage.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 22, 2024 5:42 PM |
You'll take the bronzer and foundation from my cold, dead hands!!!
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 22, 2024 6:12 PM |

I thought Valerie looked the best of them all. Maybe because she's not a washed-out looking blonde, as someone posted upthread.

Seeing that really makes me glad I’m gay. Eugh.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 22, 2024 9:14 PM |
I don't love it. They all look pretty bad, except for Pam and Val.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | October 22, 2024 9:17 PM |
Oh please, Pamela Anderson as some sort of paragon of natural beauty-didn't she make a career out of parading around in a bathing suit with giant fake torpedo tits?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | October 22, 2024 9:53 PM |
I think they look great. Anderson was always a real natural beauty (already on Home Improvement). Much better than what Madonna is doing to herself at any rate.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 22, 2024 9:57 PM |
Valerie benefits from having high-contrast coloring and a round face that makes her look younger than her age whether she wears makeup or not. The glasses, hair, and apparent weight loss helped as well. Drew looked pretty haggard in comparison.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | October 23, 2024 1:16 AM |
they are all wearing foundation and powder if they were sitting under studio lights.

There’s a reason.

Ditto, R35. I’ve never been attracted to a woman who goes to great lengths to not look how she really does look.

Pity about all the rising expenses in additional kleg-lighting and lens filters that all these productions’ budgets are now going to see, as a result. 😱

Drew owns a cosmetics company, so going makeup free is definitely a choice.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | October 23, 2024 2:48 AM |
I applaud Pam for eschewing her over-the-top sexpot look. Although it made her lots of money, I think it was morally compromising. Recently, I watched Pam and Tommy on Crave/HBO. Pam suffered the bulk of the fallout of their sex tape.

Perfect call, R22.
Gayle King has one of those weirdly shaped heads that look like a doll head someone is squeezing on the sides. There's no makeup or injection that can fix that.

During one season of Mary Tyler Moore they inexplicably didn't have Mary wear either eyeliner of false eyelashes (don't remember which) and it's distracting and continually looks like something's missing. Makeup on women serves its purpose by enhancing beauty, and actresses don't look quite "right" without it on screen. This trend, if it lasts, will likely remain strictly among the has-beens looking for publicity.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | October 23, 2024 5:21 AM |
* eyeliner OR false eyelashes
by Anonymous | reply 70 | October 23, 2024 5:21 AM |
I’ll say, I think having work done and teeth fixed but no make up could be the new status symbol.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | October 23, 2024 5:22 AM |
Must've been a later season of MTM. In the early seasons, she looked really old-fashioned, even for the time. Her hair was like a helmet. She had super-heavy eyeliner and false eyelashes. The trend at that time had already swung to a more natural look.
there was that one episode where she won a Teddy Award and her false eyelash fell off and her hair wasn't cooperative, but I don't think that's what you mean.

Even 'no makeup' looks still require makeup. A certain type of straight man will go on and on about how much he prefers women who look 'natural' but the women whom these guys cite as natural beauties are invariably wearing eyeliner, mascara, blush, foundation, brow tint, lip color, etc.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | October 23, 2024 5:46 AM |
Next up: Nicole Kidman will jump on the makeup-free trend.
This is ridiculous. These Hollywood women who can afford and do avail themselves of the best plastic surgery and dermatological treatments that money can buy. Then they make a huge deal about being "makeup-free!" Fuck them.
I still do think their eyebrows look unnecessarily wack. Fix it, ladies!

After a certain age, makeup does nothing for a woman and can even make her look worse. That age can vary.

But even younger women look like refined clowns if they go too far, IMO. A little base for coverage I get, but I don't need to make my face the Las Vegas Strip.

I do hope the false eyelash trend is about over. I don't see it as much in NYC but was in upstate NY a couple of weeks ago and all the teenagers had these ridiculous eyelashes.
Most women come up to about my shoulder. Every time I go someplace wearing a dark suit jacket it always gets smudged with some lady's face makeup from hugging me. So I am all for this no makeup trend.
