I see the younger guys with these old style mustaches. I think it sucks. Genuinely good looking young dudes but I think this style of facial hair takes away from their looks, rather than highlighting them.

That's because facial and body hair inherent to the gay 70's was dropped during the AIDS crisis, being called a clean look. For many gay people over 45, there's a subconscious belief that a mustache "dirty". So I take the return of the mustaches as a good thing, as it's a sign that young gay people don't have those kinds of burdens on their culture.

I'm a major facial hair lover. IMO a man with a strong angular face who can grow a proper beard and/or mustache should always do so. As well as sideburns at a proper longer length. Fat faced men should stay away from facial hair. it never looks good AFAIC. A man with a strong angular face who is otherwise somewhat or even quite homely can cover a multitude of sins with good facial hair. Thin lipped men also look much better if they can grow a proper 'stache. Men who can not grow facial hair that is of a proper thickness and is scraggly should never do it. A scraggly beard makes a face look dirty.
