Dear Muriel, why have I lost my buttons for FF, W&W, block unless I hit some strange little green thing in the right hand corner of each post?

There's a limited number of threads you can put on ignore because it's a strain on the servers. Once you hit that limit, the older threads will get bumped off the ignore list.

r1 You enabled Dark Mode in the Settings.

You can't block threads, that icon is purely ornamental.

If people you block are reappearing you may have hit the limit on your block list which is 255 or something.

Will I get a free yearly DL subscription if I compliment Muriel on her dashing figure and youthful appearance?

My blocking is going great! Threads will reappear from time to time, but posters never do. And this is both on mobile and desktop across two different operating systems.

Honestly, I've often questioned whether DL has "mods" who scan the threads. I've always assumed that at most DL has keyword triggers that get flagged which are then manually dealt with.

I can't imagine that DL would actually be better with "mods" inserting their own opinions into what is and is not acceptable - asbestos eyeballs and all.

The one thing where I do draw the line and hope DL does as well is actual threats of violence or manifestos calling for violence. As I can't remember the last time a thread or comment which called for real violence (vs. a catty comeback to stupidity) was allowed to remain, I think that's a line DL does enforce.

Post like these usually show up when the sock puppet trolls aren't having as much fun as they usually are.

Of course they want you to think the block function doesn't work. It's not 100% perfect, but It does. Block away. 🚫
