This sounds like a post from someone we all know well at DL and are often critical of. But I'm just going to respond because I've been in this (age difference) position before. There was no judgment on our age difference though, as there seems to be with OP.

That said, I don't think that age difference is a big deal, unless it was a teens/20s scenario. My largest age gap in a long term relationship was 7 years and we were actually together for 7 years. Of course, we were in our 3rd and 4th decades of our lives. I think in your 20s it's pretty negligible.

Maybe I'm a drama queen, but I would burn every bridge between you and her.
