Daniel Craig and Rian Johnson were upset when they learned their Knives Out film would not get a long theatrical window. Netflix vastly overpaid for the Knives Out movies. Netflix purposely overpays because their model eschews residuals. This is known. Craig and Johnson took the money and apparently just hoped Ted Sarandos would change his mind after he saw it.
Not whores: Emerald Fennell and Margot Robbie, who bypassed Netflix's $150 million offer for Wuthering Heights in favor or a distributor who will go theatrical.

The two aren't really comparable, look at how many Wuthering Heights adaptations there have been at this point. It's basically a tradition to remake it every decade or so.

Not sure why “whore” is the proper epithet here. “Asshole” maybe, for agreeing to one business model that guarantees you a large fixed payout then complaining that you don’t get paid more. Was Glass Onion such a big hit? I thought it sucked.
