I had similar situations happen numerous times. I used a specific few sites/apps for hookups, and always included recent, clear and honest photos (including nudes).

I am sort of muscle/bearish, and present as very blue collar looking in photos. As a result, guys would always expect a pickup truck driving, uber masculine straight acting guy. I'm not femme, but I am also not Mr. Uber Leather/Flannel Fisting Daddy Top taking bottoms to Slamfuck Pound Town, which is apparently what they saw in my photos - even though my profile never says anything of the sort.

Probably a dozen or so times over the years that happened. If your photos and the text of your profile is honest, that's all you can do. Sometimes guys see what they want to see, and hookups are all about what the dick wants in that moment, so it can cloud their judgement.

OK, I'm a chubby bear who once topped 300 lbs, now down to 239. I am very honest with pictures and descriptions. They're recent, and I don't hide the flaws. Why bother? They'll see them eventually. I like bigger, heftier guys myself. I am also upfront about some scarring from surgeries (cancer, not weight reduction). I don't want any surprises. Yet, some guys still see me in person and bail me out. I've hired escorts and some, I could tell, just wanted to get it over with. Others were great actors. Everyone gets rejected.
