What do you miss most about the 90's?

by Anonymousreply 61October 19, 2024 7:07 AM

The dearth of unnecessary apostrophes.

by Anonymousreply 1October 19, 2024 3:02 AM

My youth.

by Anonymousreply 2October 19, 2024 3:05 AM

R1 Oh..ha ha ha.. OMG! I'm dying!! You're SO funny!!!! Such dry humor.. So clever. Hahaha!!!!

by Anonymousreply 3October 19, 2024 3:06 AM

The most happiest time of my life. I wasn't in pain and could walk unassisted. My kids were babies. Movies seemed to be better and I miss Grunge music, too.

by Anonymousreply 4October 19, 2024 3:09 AM

My figure

by Anonymousreply 5October 19, 2024 3:09 AM

Bill Clinton as president. He was a great one.

A part of me actually misses not having the internet, living in bliss and believing that there was love and unity among us all.

by Anonymousreply 8October 19, 2024 3:13 AM

Borders Bookstore.

by Anonymousreply 9October 19, 2024 3:14 AM

The gay porn. The guys looked so clean with no tattoos.

by Anonymousreply 10October 19, 2024 3:16 AM

Fentanyl free cocaine.

by Anonymousreply 11October 19, 2024 3:19 AM

The phrase "gay and lesbian" to describe us.

by Anonymousreply 12October 19, 2024 3:26 AM

Oh and those Chicken Tonight sauces. Classico is still around, why was C.T. discontinued?

by Anonymousreply 13October 19, 2024 3:29 AM

[quote] I miss Grunge music, too.

Grunge was our last era of rock. Who knew rock music was going to die right after grunge. I really miss rock music. I just listen to old stuff, now.

by Anonymousreply 14October 19, 2024 3:33 AM

R13, YTF.

That the trannies were where they belonged, on Jerry Springer with the other freaks. They weren’t running the fucking Department of Health and Human Services.

Imagine if Shaniqua with the four baby daddies ended up running the Department of Education. Fuck this century.

Not being over a hundred.

by Anonymousreply 19October 19, 2024 3:47 AM

God, the turds that come rolling through here with their cunting names and vapid personalities.

by Anonymousreply 20October 19, 2024 3:48 AM

A lot the world just seemed simpler. I like listening to the classic Art Bell shows from the 90s. Even the commercial make me nostalgic.

by Anonymousreply 21October 19, 2024 3:49 AM

I really think some of you are idealizing and romanticizing the '90s. It was a fun time to be alive, but not idyllic.

by Anonymousreply 22October 19, 2024 3:50 AM

Two sexes and no gender identities.

by Anonymousreply 23October 19, 2024 3:52 AM

I had a sense of optimism that has gone now. I'm more pragmatic now. I don't believe in fairy tale endings. No man is going to come into my life to save me and make me his husband. I will face my remaining years alone although healthy and promiscuous as circumstances allow.

That's probably mostly due to getting older and more experienced. It could have happened during any series of decades, IMO. (Giving up on fairy tales, being more results-oriented, seeing that you probably will fail 50% of the time.

by Anonymousreply 31October 19, 2024 4:28 AM

The lighthearted political scandals. Clinton got a blowjob in the Oval Office. That DC City Councilman used the word “niggardly” and one of his black coworkers didn’t know that “niggardly” means stingy and accused the guy of racism. Was really strange and funny. Even in the 90s the word “niggardly” was antiquated and he had to have known that most black people would assume that he meant the N word.

by Anonymousreply 32October 19, 2024 4:30 AM

The music for sure! Also not having to worry about cellphones recording every aspect of your life. Ahh, we were so blissfully unaware of what our future held.

by Anonymousreply 33October 19, 2024 4:31 AM

AIDS...those were the days.

by Anonymousreply 38October 19, 2024 4:46 AM

R36 Multiculturalism in and of itself isn’t a problem. The problem arises when we are told that backward cultures like Islam must be given the same level of respect as all the others.

by Anonymousreply 39October 19, 2024 4:46 AM

Living in NYC.

by Anonymousreply 40October 19, 2024 4:53 AM

College and Summer jobs. All the grade A guys I could pull. My beat up car. Cranking Fade Into You while driving. My mom and dad being alive. Their house and pool and all the summer cookouts.....basically I guess just having a fun life. Not a care in the fucking world.

by Anonymousreply 41October 19, 2024 4:54 AM

Yeah R34. Wearing condoms was so much worse than taking a party drug that will damage your internal organs. But hey, I wanna take loads! I can live without my kidneys!

by Anonymousreply 42October 19, 2024 4:57 AM

R39 The problem is many liberals have made being the underdog the be all end all of reality. What happened to being a fucking winner. I was a child in the 90s having turned 12 in the year 2000. I imagine people could watch Michael Jordan, and watch Seinfeld with no black people in it, without feeling convicted. Where gays guys could laugh at a joke like “if you can take a dick, you can take a joke”. Where if Janet didn’t win AOTY at the Grammys it wasn’t due to “white supremacy”. Obviously the 90s weren’t perfect and trans people were treated like shit but we have gone on PC overload.

by Anonymousreply 43October 19, 2024 5:02 AM

Clubbing on the weekend and the occasional dance party. That feeling of looking forward to social events as the chance to dress up and act up.

You had to go out to meet guys to hook up with. I miss that thrill of being in a bar or club or party and seeing someone you fancied and then making them notice you. The thrill of the chase and being chased.

by Anonymousreply 44October 19, 2024 5:05 AM

The Gaiety

by Anonymousreply 45October 19, 2024 5:30 AM

Staying at the Westside YMCA and having fun in the showers late at night with the guys who had come from the bars and were looking for action.

[quote] Where if Janet didn’t win AOTY at the Grammys it wasn’t due to “white supremacy”. Obviously the 90s weren’t perfect and trans people were treated like shit but we have gone on PC overload.

Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole and Lauryn Hill each won the AOTY Grammy in the 90s. No Black woman has won in the last 25 years. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift has won AOTY 4 times in the last 14 years.

What would you call it?

by Anonymousreply 47October 19, 2024 5:40 AM

by Anonymousreply 51October 19, 2024 6:12 AM

Nothing. The world as we knew it started to get worse.

by Anonymousreply 52October 19, 2024 6:12 AM

All You Can Eat buffets. Ecstacy for the senses. The fun of judging others while being judged by them.

by Anonymousreply 53October 19, 2024 6:13 AM

r3 actually r1 was kind of funny. At this point, retards who don't know how to use apostrophes deserve mockery.

by Anonymousreply 54October 19, 2024 6:14 AM

All the ones we lost.

by Anonymousreply 55October 19, 2024 6:18 AM

My parents.

by Anonymousreply 56October 19, 2024 6:27 AM

I wish we could turn off the internet for short periods so we could all remember what that was like.

by Anonymousreply 57October 19, 2024 6:35 AM

The 90s were peak for classic sitcoms still airing and with reruns. TV Land and Nick at Nite were lit.

by Anonymousreply 58October 19, 2024 6:51 AM

The TGIF lineup on ABC.

Honestly, this. Just all of this. My childhood. :(
