I'm sure that's the main thing Erivo objected to, but since the alteration was done by a fan rather than by the studio itself., I think she was a fool for making such a big deal about the whole thing.

That was sort of the whole point - to reproduce the show poster which also hides her eyes.

Thematically, hiding her eyes and the red smile were intentional in the show poster. Hiding the eyes made her motives enigmatic - you don't know why she's smiling.

Frankly, Erivo's eyes in the poster are dead and convey nothing.

She never seems happy, never seems to have a moment of joy. She seems like a miserable person who lives to play victim and engage in acts of faux outrage. She acts like she's some A-list Hollywood legend when she's barely a blip on the showbiz radar, and she fails to recognize how fucking lucky she is to have landed this role.

I just went to a movie at an AMC theater in Manhattan and she was interviewed with Ariana Grande before the previews started and I told my friend right there that I will never see 'Wicked,' even when it streams, because I wouldn't be able to look Errivo's ugly mug. That nose ring is hideous as are the fingernails. I can't stand to look at her and because what makes her so damn ugly is her own personal choices I have absolutely no problem talking about it.

Here's the deal: I think the movie will be a huge hit and then we will never hear the end of her. She might even get the Oscar, which would make her one of the youngest EGOTs. It's all fairly nauseating.
