It looks “haunted.”

I really don't understand the black house paint trend.

by Anonymousreply 1October 16, 2024 11:54 AM

It looks like no one has lived there for 50 years, yet the inside is relatively clean and the house hasn’t been trashed. Odd. Maybe the residents were all suddenly captured by aliens.?

10 bedrooms, but only 3000 square feet? Something is wrong with the math.

by Anonymousreply 3October 16, 2024 1:19 PM

Where's that yeast smell coming from?

🆙Too many orthodox Jewish neighbors .

by Anonymousreply 5October 16, 2024 8:56 PM

R3: Probably reflects old servants quarters or a life as a rooming house.

by Anonymousreply 6October 16, 2024 10:51 PM

Great bones. A motivated buyer with a good sized budget could turn it into a real stunner.

by Anonymousreply 7October 16, 2024 11:24 PM

What's on its Victrola in the living room?

by Anonymousreply 8October 16, 2024 11:41 PM

OP, why did you put the word haunted in quotes?

by Anonymousreply 9October 16, 2024 11:46 PM

When Did Barnabas move out?

by Anonymousreply 10October 16, 2024 11:59 PM

First time ever on Tasteful Friends threads.

Sold.

Worth the million it and the property need. A real find. Even the location is perfect.

Would you know of any good-stock rental retail space in the village? Mr. Barlow is a collector and he would like to open a fine antique shop.

by Anonymousreply 11October 17, 2024 12:55 AM

I'm afraid you'll have to go to Woodstock for that Mr. Straker.

by Anonymousreply 12October 17, 2024 1:32 AM

The lower interior rooms are pure Norman Bates and his Mom.

Then the punchline of the cheery, ok, garish, loud neon wall colors on the upper floors is witty.

by Anonymousreply 13October 17, 2024 1:58 AM

I think OP put quotes around the word “haunted” because if you look close at some of the photos, you can see painted and built interior details like spiderwebs on window corners, and fake raven shadows on the walls, and skeletons. Probably inhabited by kooky arty queens at some point.

by Anonymousreply 14October 17, 2024 2:51 AM

It looks like a Scooby Doo set.

by Anonymousreply 15October 17, 2024 1:11 PM

That’s quite cheap-it must be a disaster.

by Anonymousreply 16October 18, 2024 1:26 AM

R1- That and the trend towards overpriced luxury cars with the black FLAT sheen less paint jobs.

by Anonymousreply 17October 18, 2024 1:46 AM

A magnificent ruin. Would take a lot of love and money to bring it back. And yes, that town has become an Jewish Orthodox enclave.
