OP for the same reason many very beautiful women known more for their looks than acting saw their careers go down the shitter (Sharon Stone, Demi Moore, etc.)

R10, Demi Moore is back. I think what really got her off track was divorcing Bruce Willis. They were a power couple. Then she started with the bizarre Ashton Kutcher and Kabbalah bullshit and seemed like she had lost her confidence.

Why is it that whenever someone, who was a big star in their prime, fades back from the limelight, some of you see it as their career taking a dive? Not everyone is so thirsty for fame and adulation that it becomes a life mission to be A-list forever. Perhaps Daryl did what she came to do and decided to bow out gracefully. Or maybe she only chooses to work whenever she feels passionately about a project.

I liked her in Blade Runner but not much after that.

I once interviewed her for a magazine article back around 1987 when she was a budding star. At that point in my career I was doing celebrity interviews, a lot of them, and Daryl was the only time I gave up -- I couldn't get a single coherent or interesting thought out of her -- and I interviewed some real know-nothings. I truly believed she was retarded (a word that you could use 40 years ago).

I met her some 20 years ago when "Silver City" premiered at TIFF. She's one of the most socially awkward people I've ever seen, extremely uncomfortable around people, staring at her shoes the entire time, Later I found out she's on the spectrum. My strong impression was that it would be extremely difficult to work with someone like her. Maybe if you're Meryl Streep or someone like that, the director and the crew might be willing to work around it, but not for her. I don't know much about Asperger's but it's possible that it got worse as she aged.

Also - Harvey Weinstein may have had an impact on her career. He tried to force his way into her room during Kill Bill promotion - he could have had her career options killed.

She was always so common

I love her in Reckless, Splash, Steel Magnolias, and Kill Bill.

She can be endearing, but not much of an actress.
