So many of them die from drugs, alcohol, suicide, etc. It really is sad.
What would you guess is the average life span for a drag queen?

In what, drag years?

I'm still here. But I only performed for three years. Over forty years ago. But I know several from that era still alive and performing. Some who did a shit ton of drugs.

It's an occupational hazard to be in bars/clubs several nights a week. I don't know how you could do that without being tempted to have a drink - particularly if they are free.
I give the older ones credit - it's a lot of work to stay thin (for those that do - some are very fat) and wear uncomfortable tight clothes and high heels and the heavy amounts of makeup - what does it do to your skin? Plus shaving so many places.
Being a drag queen ain't for sissies - it's a tough competitive job. And I'm serious when I say that.

I don't know about Drag Queens but the average life span in the wild for an American Crow is about 7 to 8 years.

About 7 years longer than a gay porn star.

That’s not a drag queen, R8. That’s a straight male autogynophile masquerading as that which he fetishizes.

The Legendary Darcelle XV of Portland, Oregon, lived to the ripe age of 92.
Rest In Peace.
