Donald Trump announced some major family news while campaigning in Michigan. His youngest daughter, Tiffany Trump, is expecting her first child with husband Michael Boulos. And his delivery was pretty … meh.
The former president was speaking to the Detroit Economic Club and revealed that Tiffany’s father-in-law, Massad Boulos, was in attendance.
“He happens to be the father of Tiffany’s husband, Michael, who’s a very exceptional young guy,” Trump told the crowd, per USA Today.
“And she’s an exceptional young woman, and she’s going to have a baby, so that’s nice,” he continued.
… So that’s nice?! Talk about a lackluster announcement! You would think he would be a little more excited about this new addition to the family, but apparently it’s just “nice.” Is Trump just over the whole grandkid thing? As a grandfather of 10, has expanding the family lost its appeal?
(ICYMI: Trump’s eldest son, Donald Jr., has two daughters and three sons between the ages of 10 and 17. His secondborn, Eric, has a 5-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son, and his thirdborn, Ivanka, has three kids between the ages of 8 and 13.)
It was a strange throwaway of an announcement and an even stranger lack of enthusiasm, but, I guess one could say Trump sharing the news with prospective voters was … “nice.” That is unless you’re Tiffany and hoped to share the news yourself. The TV personality has not made her own announcement, but a spokesperson confirmed the news to People.
Tiffany and Boulos met at Lindsay Lohan’s beach club in Mykonos, Greece in the summer of 2018. Boulos later proposed in the White House Rose Garden during Trump’s presidency, and the couple married in the fall of 2022 at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Which is … ya know … nice.
