I’m a history fan and I think it would be fascinating. There’s no way in hell I’d go now but if Korea was reunified and all democratic I would go. But you’d have to go in the first few years before they start fixing and modernizing the place to get the full experience.
If Korea ever reunifies, would you visit the former North Korea?

No interest. If I'm going over in that direction I'm going to Japan.

Sure, if my old ass can still travel by then. I used the original region names of Korea for a worldbuilding project not long ago and remember being fascinated by the history of Gwanseo/Pyongyang within Joseon. Hopefully some of that history is still preserved or buried. Plus I'm a fat whore and willing to try fried food from almost anywhere. Travel forth!

It actually has some of the worst climate on the planet. Very dreary, cold, nothing grows there, just an awful place geographically speaking. It feels as depressing as it is.
