Super-fit high school senior, 18, collapses and dies at end of half-marathon
by Anonymous | reply 63 | October 15, 2024 5:05 PM |
What is that thing next to him?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | October 11, 2024 4:19 PM |
R1 How mean. He had a great face but couldn’t live forever.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 11, 2024 4:20 PM |
R1 Her hair will be gone along with him if she keeps pulling it so tightly.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 11, 2024 4:24 PM |
One year the Boston Marathon in mid April had a heatwave and at least one runner died, hundreds needed IV fluids in the ER.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 11, 2024 4:28 PM |
That’s his mom, R1. I think she looks great for a woman in her 30s!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 11, 2024 4:30 PM |
He was only 18? He looks 30 in those pictures.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 11, 2024 4:31 PM |
It was the vax!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 11, 2024 4:32 PM |
Undiagnosed heart? Poor thing.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 11, 2024 4:45 PM |
He's wearing a cross necklace in OP's pic.
Well, so much for that.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 11, 2024 4:47 PM |
This is roughly what I imagine Alexander the Great looked like.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 11, 2024 4:50 PM |
They shouldn't hold these races in hot weather. Furthermore, running seems to kill people. Jim Fixx, author of the running books, also died of a heart attack during a run.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 11, 2024 4:58 PM |
To an athlete dying young...
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 11, 2024 5:13 PM |
Sad but why post??
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 11, 2024 5:24 PM |
He probably obsessed over/relished in his perfect genes/body/work ethic/life constantly.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 11, 2024 5:25 PM |
This is roughly what I imagine Alexander the Great looked like.
Except he had blond hair.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 11, 2024 5:31 PM |
I like the way the Daily Fail headline reads "Family shares upsetting reason" and then they don't say what it is, instead "we just don't understand why. We wish we had answers."
Me too.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 11, 2024 5:48 PM |
Wasn’t “super-fit” if a little running killed him.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 11, 2024 6:02 PM |
Any shirtless pics?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 11, 2024 6:10 PM |
(R18) yup in the story
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 11, 2024 6:22 PM |
The temperature was 88! My god we celebrate when it goes to 88, people have to work in this EVERY FUCKING DAY, so I don't feel bad for him playing a game.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 11, 2024 7:36 PM |
If you are running in 88 degree weather and it's sunny, then it's likely you are running in 100 degrees when you are in direct sunlight. I no longer run, but when I did I would only run in the mornings or evening when the sun was low and the temperature was close to the shade temperature. Also, if you experienced any symptoms of heat exhaustion in the days before a marathon, do not dare to run. Skip it, there will always be another marathon to run.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 11, 2024 7:44 PM |
"Superfit" people can succumb to cardiac and neurological conditions just like people with regular/ poor health. You can be built like Superman, have the endurance of an Olympic swimmer, and only eat the most disciplined of healthy diets, but none of that matters if you have undetected high cholesterol, undiagnosed, cardiac disease ( see blocked arteries), or an embolism in the brain decides to pop.
I do wonder about the extremis of athletic training these days in an attempt to push athletes to surpass past competitive records.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 11, 2024 7:52 PM |
I'll wait for toxicology to identify the real cause.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 11, 2024 11:11 PM |
dear god, why'd you have to kill such hot snatch?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 11, 2024 11:13 PM |
R16 the Fail also caption the dead young man as a "freshman" in one photo.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 11, 2024 11:17 PM |
Bingo R23.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 11, 2024 11:21 PM |
He gives Mike Damone vibes.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 11, 2024 11:22 PM |
R1 it is Drea de Matteo
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 12, 2024 12:24 AM |
He must have gotten so much pussy.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 12, 2024 1:57 AM |
Sad-very cute. This shit happens every year.RIP.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 12, 2024 1:59 AM |
Rough year for hot teen snatch.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 12, 2024 2:46 AM |
Cherish the memories you have with him whether he was shirtless or not. The obituary was written by a DLer.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 12, 2024 2:55 AM |
That's sad. His poor family, too.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 12, 2024 3:06 AM |
From R32.
his biggest passion was fitness. From jujitsu and soccer as a child, to football, wrestling and track throughout middle and high school. Rest was a foreign concept to him.
This is sad. I hope this kid wasn't using steroids.
[bold]Jr. was saved and baptized by Pastor Luke Winfrey on October 22, 2023.[/bold] Recently, he had shared on social media, "I thank God everyday for this life and making me the person I am today."
Saved? He was 17.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 12, 2024 3:27 AM |
Any shirtless pics?
Freshly tattooed and wearing a "birthday girl" sash.

A former coworker of mine was an athlete and would do periodic marathons and triathlete competitions. He came down with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He had chemotherapy , but his cancer returned. He then did a stem-cell transplant treatment from his brother that seemed to work, but just a month later he competed in two marathons. His cancer returned. After a second round of stem-cell, his doctor told him not to engage in any intensive physical activity for 2-3 years since his immune system was compromised and he could relapse again. He listened and didn't do any marathons for at least 5 years. He's still healthy today. I guess the point is to not overly stress your body if it is already going through some health issue.
He must have gotten so much pussy.
And dong.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 12, 2024 4:04 AM |
Will he lay shirtless at the visitation on Monday?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 12, 2024 4:25 AM |
R16 they do it because they’re simping to anti-vaxxers. The Fail runs this story every day.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 12, 2024 5:19 AM |
Was he cut or uncut?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 12, 2024 5:28 AM |
Alberto DOA
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 12, 2024 5:32 AM |
Looks like he wasn't THAT fit . . .
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 12, 2024 5:32 AM |
18 years old and he already had a number of trashy tattoos. Says it all - one less vote for Trump and Hawley.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 12, 2024 5:35 AM |
Another seemingly healthy guy who recently died after a half-marathon. Looking through his Instagram, he seemed totally normal (outside of being a Disney obsessive) without any health conditions.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | October 12, 2024 5:50 AM |
"Finally, it is important to note, on the morning of October 5th, Jr. very unexpectedly passed away after crossing the finish line of a half marathon. His goal was to complete it in under two hours. He completed it at an hour and fifty-eight minutes."
Finally, it is important to note, he died.
That obituary is the gift that keeps giving.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | October 12, 2024 8:12 AM |
R26 We'll never hear the real cause of death from his family if the toxicology reports come back that he was taking any kind of drugs.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 12, 2024 2:46 PM |
R35 His obituary may say he was 18, but his face says he was 45.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | October 12, 2024 2:46 PM |
R35 It's a shame he passed away. He'd have been perfect for a reboot of Chico and the Man.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | October 12, 2024 2:53 PM |
I worked in a high school for years a lot of those high achieving or super athletic kids do some type of speed whether it’s Adderrall or meth. Not saying they all do, but I was surprised at who was.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | October 12, 2024 3:16 PM |
R45 He should not have run the marathon if he was experiencing heat exhaustion the day before.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | October 12, 2024 8:18 PM |
I worked in a high school for years a lot of those high achieving or super athletic kids do some type of speed whether it’s Adderrall or meth. Not saying they all do, but I was surprised at who was.
These young guys are under pressure to build muscle while staying lean so they can pose on social media. They wouldn’t need drugs and extreme dieting and exercise if they weren’t simultaneously pursuing such low amounts of body fat.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | October 12, 2024 8:36 PM |
Douchebag.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | October 12, 2024 8:45 PM |
They wouldn't need to pursue that look at all if they weren't such vapid useless whores R52.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | October 12, 2024 10:51 PM |
R48 I thought the same thing. He looks older than me and I'm ancient -- even by DL standards.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | October 12, 2024 10:54 PM |
Am I the only one who noticed the kid in OPs article is shirtless wearing a "Birday Girl" sash.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | October 13, 2024 12:14 AM |
I’d be happy to comfort the dad.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | October 13, 2024 12:14 AM |
He looked like a total douchebag, RIP
by Anonymous | reply 58 | October 13, 2024 2:32 AM |
Who will play him in the inspirational true story?
by Anonymous | reply 59 | October 13, 2024 3:37 AM |
60 posts in and no guess as to his dick size?
by Anonymous | reply 60 | October 13, 2024 4:07 AM |
He doesn’t look 45. Jesus.
And you lot look much older than you think. You can’t fake a younger person’s skin. You can /always/ tell.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | October 13, 2024 4:34 AM |
R32 was right, which one of you bitches wrote this?
His Mother, Stephanie, Father, Rudy, older sisters Iyleena and Lorraina, and future brother-in-law, Jaron ask for prayers. They also ask you cherish the memories you have with him (whether he was shirtless or not.)

Well social media peer pressures them into thinking that this is what they need to look like:
