Soccer star George Baldock is DEAD TO ME !
English soccer star George Baldock has died at the age of 31.
According to the BBC, the athlete — who was born in the U.K. but also held Greek nationality — was found dead in a swimming pool at his home in Glyfada, Athens, on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
The outlet reported that there was no evidence of foul play and that a local coroner had initially suggested Baldock died of drowning before his body was found at 10:30 pm local time.
According to Reuters, the soccer player could not be revived after police tried cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him.
Baldock's family also said in a statement per the outlets, "We can confirm that George has sadly passed away. As a family we are in shock at this terrible loss."
