I am currently accepting your suggestions for a truly biting DL worthy protest sign. Give me your best!
I'll be protesting outside of 45's rally at Madison Square Garden.

Wanna know the absolute WORST way to treat Trump, aside from kicking his ass at the ballot box? IGNORE HIM. That's literally it.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 10, 2024 8:31 PM |
Yep I think he's going to blue states hoping for protests at a minimum. And he'll claim that a peaceful protest was a 'riot'. My hope is that he'll be ignored and that 8,000 asshole from Staten Island will half fill MSG. The pictures of empty chairs will make him look like a loser. The lack of protests will make him look like old news.

Please do not do this, OP. He gets off on the negative attention and will think you are beta and a loser. It will accomplish nothing. The worst thing you can do to a narcissist is greyrock them, so just do that. Remember: your attention is like water for plants. Whatever you focus on, you give power to and allow to grow. If you focus on Trump every second, you are watering the Trump plant and allowing it to grow and causing yourself stress.
Ignore Trump's events and vote.

The goal is to create a race riot in midtown to scare white people into voting for him. If 22k Nazis rage in a theater and there's no one there to protest do they make a sound?
The best solution would be to have Taylor Swift give a concert for peace in Flushing Meadow or Prospect Park. Just ignore the fucking Nazi's, we're 8 million strong.

MSG sits above Penn Station where 600k people pass through daily, including whatever 22k fans are attending an event at the garden. The streets are packed on an ordinary day and there is zero space for protesting in any kind of organized, effective, fashion.
. The Nazi fans will have to pass through metal detectors and the NYPD aren't going to allow groups of marauding assholes to cause trouble. For them it's just another day. Let the incel Nazis have their little rally and vote them out of office.

by Anonymous | reply 61 | October 12, 2024 1:07 AM |
You know what I worry about? The Military. Yes. I know top generals a retired big shots are all condemning Trump. But we know that there are too many mid- level and ordinary grunts who watch Fox news regularly on base and who support Trump. They would never vote for a woman as Commander in Chief and probably resented the fact that Biden chose Austin as his Secretary of Defense. Austin's health has made it difficult for him to stay on top of the subversion going on in his own operations. That is my worry. And with the National Guard, you have the same problem. Those guys, a lot of them love Trump.

I just got back from a hurricane relief trip to redneck/ultra-rich Florida, really, some of the nicest Nazis you'll ever meet. They decided years ago that they love the guy and they don't pay attention to any of the crazy talk. Even the redneck workers love him. Truly frightening. One can only hope that enough women realize what's at stake and vote.

Oh, no. The best way to treat Shitler is to MOCK HIM. Fascists can't stand being laughed at, made fools of, and/or embarrassed. Mocking him provokes him, and 14 days out the best thing that could happen were to be that Shitler gets goaded into saying something so beyond the pale, so outrageous that it embarrasses the politicians that are voting for him out of sheer lust for power. For instance, could he be provoked into using the n-word in reference to Kamala? You know he has in private. You know he wants to. All it would take is someone telling him it would endear him to his base and motivate them to vote (when the reality is that anyone who would vote for him for using the n-word is already voting for him). DO IT.

^^link please, 32/7th is the main exit from Penn Station and above it is the entrance to MSG. There is no assembly area and a heavy security presence.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | October 26, 2024 12:56 PM |
The crowd won't be tiny. Elon is probably bankrolling this. And they will be bussing people in from all over the place. You can bet MAGAts from New Jersey, PA, Virginia, Ohio, etc. will be there. This is the Big Event. Proud Boys, militias, and Oathkeepers will be present too. So will the NYPD, the state police and possibly the National Guard. I honestly believe this is the call to arms. This is like the rally on the ellipse. I encourage you to not go. They want to provoke violence and I almost hope they do. If Trump speaks and encourages violence it will certainly have a bad effect on his campaign. It will remind people of what happened in 2021, because some of these jerks are clueless.

[Quote]I think it’s going to be low energy with weak turnout
Unlikely. This is the big set piece. Trump regards NYC as "his" city. They will be bussing in the crowd. These rallies are a key plank in their recruitment and retention strategy. They have ex-military MAGA there to find other ex-military, ex-law enforcement in and outside the venue to bring them further into MAGA.
Trump knows how rallies function. He's read Mein Kampf. Notice how the Trump rallies have started to incorporate a regular "honoring of the dead" segment, as when he brought on a mannequin dressed in the fire fighter uniform of the man killed in the first assassination attempt. Trump kissed the man's uniform. This is likely inspired by the Nazi Totenehrung ("honoring of the dead") at the Nurenberg rallies.
This will have high production values, emphasise "unity", a "new golden age" and Trump has switched his red, white and blue suit and tie in recent days to black and gold - black suit, gold tie, black cap with gold "MAGA" logo.

Ah yes, The Blackshirts. "The Blackshirts were a paramilitary force of armed squads in Fascist Italy under Benito Mussolini. The Blackshirts wore black shirts as part of their uniform...The Blackshirts were originally organised in 1919 to destroy the economic and political organisations of socialists."
And thus a potent new revenue stream for TFG for his Fall collection. Black is the new black. Ten days to push back fiercely against this malignancy.

[quote]Ooh, shots fired at WaPo!
WaPo is Switzerland, above and beyond all that bothersome noisy fighting.
by Anonymous | reply 138 | October 27, 2024 3:21 PM |
It’s as if Switzerland had long been a defender of democracy and decided to adopt a neutrality posture in 1939.
by Anonymous | reply 139 | October 27, 2024 3:24 PM |
Switzerland took Nazi money and got rich. They didn't stay neutral at all
by Anonymous | reply 140 | October 27, 2024 3:28 PM |
The beauty of “staying neutral” is you can do business with both sides.

I just saw a video of people standing around outside MSG and one had a sign Trump Won. Pathetic.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | October 27, 2024 8:02 PM |
Apparently it's going really well and the crowd is enormous. I fucking hate that he's going out with a bang.
Just eight more days and we'll be rid of him forever, so whatever.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | October 27, 2024 8:06 PM |
That’s probably one of the few places he could still pull a massive crowd. Lots of MAGAs in the NYC area and they have not have much opportunity to show their devotion. Another rally in Wisconsin or North Carolina would not sell out
by Anonymous | reply 146 | October 27, 2024 8:12 PM |
I really hope the MSG does him in.

Even if he loses, he’s not going to go away. It will be a replay of 2021, but worse.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | October 27, 2024 8:14 PM |
I don't see it being worse, r149. We aren't at the same stage of COVID and Joe is the President.

by Anonymous | reply 156 | October 27, 2024 8:54 PM |
He’s going to be disposed of pretty quickly. MAGA will rage with impotence but the party isn’t going to stick their necks out for Trump. They’re sick of hlm and he will have decimated their party by then.
by Anonymous | reply 157 | October 27, 2024 8:55 PM |
Agreed, R157. In the event of defeat, there will be plenty of people rushing to the microphones to try seize the party back. There will be no better time. Some will try to recreate Trump (hello Miss Hawley) and some will try to recreate the party before Trump. Don't know who will win, if anybody, but Trump will be history politically and too consumed with aging, likely dementia, and trying to avoid jail.
Whoever wins this thing has the same problem: their side can't command a sizeable enough majority to carry the day. Many Republicans will make the calculation there's no more ground to be gained out of Trumpism. Which isn't to say they'll prevail in the internal civil war. Another who knows WTF will happen.

I'm watching Bulwark coverage. Tim Miller said the crowd outside was very subdued. I told you it would be low energy. There will be no violence. People are exhausted from Trump.
by Anonymous | reply 192 | October 28, 2024 12:36 AM |
I think they've gone too far. It's enough that it will push Republican half hearted and independents and undecideds over the line.
What was new content tonight was truly shocking and a black mark on the country. It was too much.

A lot of the people were probably paid or got free transportation. These people were bodies to fill the joint. Oh, there were definitely thousands of MAGAts there but not nearly as many as they want us to believe. And yeah, they left filth and garbage on the streets as they lined up to go inside. I don't know how many people fit into MSG normally, but I'd say this crowd was not SRO. Not even close.
by Anonymous | reply 195 | October 28, 2024 2:25 AM |
Actually, this rally with all the hate and racism spewing out, so publicly, is a good thing for Harris. If there truly are any "undecideds" sitting on the fence, or anyone thinking about voting 3rd party, then this ought to motivate them. This is shameful. Trump is mentally insane. Delusional to believe this is in anyway helpful. One analyst claims he has abandoned any hope of winning and is setting the stage for claims the election was stolen.

Matthew Dowd who I follow on Twitter said Harris is going to win. And he knows his shit. He was exposing the garbage polls and he said that we need to get ready because from this week until Election Day the Russians and the other shit stirrers will be throwing everything they can think of at us. False information, rumors and accusations and more garbage and we need to ignore it. They want to suppress the vote.

It's odd that TFG is trying to distance from his hired racist 'comedian.' The great statesman and diplomat has himself formerly referred to 'shit-hole' countries. This fact might usefully be revived to compound the squalor of the MSG rally.
by Anonymous | reply 204 | October 28, 2024 7:28 AM |
The Trump campaign specifically hired the comedian to say the things that the audience expected to hear but which Trump & co couldn't really explicitly say themselves.
It was all very calculated. As was the rally at the MSG location.
Did everyone get the message?
