I pick Family Affair. They're all so sad and I love it.

Yeah, Family Affair was usually a real bummer. Somebody was always running away from home or afraid Unca Beeyoo was gonna get married and throw them out.

OP, I love you. Family Affair is also my favorite, and you're right, it did feature many episodes with a melancholy focus:
The episode where Buffy's friend (played by DL fave Eve Plumb) died of cancer was especially heart-rending. The last scene was a close-up of Buffy weeping!
Then there was the episode about the handsome, nice pro football player who lost his career due to flirtations with illegal sports betting.
And let's not forget the episode about the sweet, lonely Black girl who is a victim of systemic racism.
And the episode about the little white girl whose mother neglects her.
I love all the episodes, plus the double doors and green berber carpeting in the chic Davis apartment!

When Jody was in love with a teacher who looked like his dead mother(my favorite episode).
Cissy pretends she's excited about going to boarding school. She's not. She wants to make it easier for the twins to stay together.
Cissy's mother daughter night.
Fat, fat water rat. The poor kids eating sugar sandwiches.
The nasty aunt comes back for Cissy and Buffy. She thinks it will work this time because her husband is on the wagon. She doesn't want Jody though.

My most vivid memory of Family Affair is the terrified look on the kids' when the bus in Spain takes off without Mr. French.

OP, I really don't appreciate you including my show with these other televisions series of questionable repute. I assume that the reason we've been herded into this group of rabble has to do with my daughter Nancy's questionable behavior and taste. Now, if you'll excuse me I have to pick at an Entemman's crumb cake on the kitchen table after which I'll be taking an unrestful nap where I'll ponder where we (mainly Doug) went wrong with our eldest.
