If he was bisexual, why did he only do straight porn?

Not aware that he did any porn- it’s not in his book or the documentary.

He also was not a pimp in the sense that he took a cut. He arranged and the payment was kept by the hooker.

I’ve never seen any report of Bowers accepting money for his sexual services. He lived modestly. Perhaps for him, proximity to celebrity was enough.

No pimp will ever admit they made money. Ever.

I’ve also never heard of him doing porn.

I think OP is drunk this morning.

Scotty was born on July 1, 1923? Seriously?

He came off in the book and documentary as well-meaning but highly damaged.

If I remember correctly, there exists photos of him having sex with a black woman. I think they were sold at an auction.

Bowers never did any commercial porn. He likely was filmed having sex, and we know he was photographed in the nude, but it was all for private consumption. And as far as his book is concerned the only person who ever called him a pimp was Lucille Ball who encountered him at a private function he was bartending at. She walked up to him and slapped him soundly across the face and loundly told him "you stop pimping for my husband". Scotty had been providing broads for ol' Desi for a long while and Lucille was fed up with it.
I don't think he was damaged at all. I think he simply had a very healthy sexual appetite. He clearly preferred females, but was sexually adventurous enough to experience, and enjoy, romps in the hey with males as well. Scotty was an all 'rounder, and on the go.

We're all damaged. From what I gathered reading the book and watching a couple of interviews, he seemed like his well-being was fine. Not everyone handles sexual abuse the same, and in his case he turned it into a series of favors that gave him an unimaginable life and the respect of many. Good for him.

He did charge as did those he referred. But he did not take a cut of anyone else’s fee which is what pimps do.
Clearly he was damaged- but he did not seem bothered by it (clergy abuse) and even turned it into a “business”. But I wonder about being a marine in WW2 and I gather being part of the Iwo Jima battle. He never disclosed anything on anyone still living. He was discrete.
