I never ordered from there but I remember my Grandma getting pizza from Schwan's.
Yelloh, formerly known as Schwan's, is dead to me!

Sad. I used them a couple times before they stopped truck delivering in my area. Their stuff was always good and much cheaper than other delivery services of course.

back in the late 80s, their raspberry cordial chocolate ice cream "sticks" were pretty good.
and i'm not an ice cream eater, either. but i did like those. they were a nice, cool treat on a hot and humid east coast summer day.

Oh no. My parents (85 yrs old) are lifetime Schwan's (Yelloh) customers. My dad went through those 5 gallon metal tins of ice cream like nobodies business. They also keep their freezer full of frozen food from Schwan's. My heart actually skipped a beat when I saw the headline. My dad is going to be devastated. We always tease him about his ice cream, but at 85 years old, Parkinson's, cancer, he should be able to eat as much damn ice cream as he wants. He's also always been skinny as a rail.

chicken cordon bleu.

I guess given how expensive food and gas are it's not a surprise. My elderly parents used them on occasion and said it was good. Thought I'd give it a try, but never got around to it. The market is less than 2 miles from my home, so I just go and shop for myself.

I just found about about them with this thread.
I looked at their site but "too little too late".

The only time I had food poisoning was from them.

The food looks generic and expensive for what you get. Feels like a relic that would have closed in the 80s.

Hopefully they can get rescued from bankruptcy like Red Lobster did. They are a classic American culinary staple.

Growing up, summer meant the return of Schwabn's peach ice cream. Why would they change their name to something as stupid as Yelloh?

Sounds like a try-hard hipsterfication like “Booking dot…yeah.”

Yeah r4, that was good stuff. My late grandparents were also fans of Schwan's, and got deliveries of their frozen food and ice cream in their final years, when they no longer had the energy to cook. Had a lot of good meals with them, this is sad.

I've never heard of this place or Schwan's in my life - they ship to all 48 states? Why would you buy basic expensive frozen food delivered to your house?
This stuff looks like Swanson's quality of food.
These are the best sellers? You've got to be joking. People BOUGHT this?

We also used to get their frozen pizzas before they launched Red Baron Pizza - they also own Freschetta and Tony's frozen pizzas

^ Didn't know any of that.
So can you still order from them now or is there a cut off point down the line?

I blame elders for letting so many checks bounce. Sad.

I spoke with my mom last night and this was the entire topic of conversation. And "forget Dad's ice cream, he can get vanilla anywhere. Where am I going to get my favorite cherry ice cream now?". Aw bless them.

Before there was such a thing as Costco, Schwan used to sell bulk frozen food and ice cream; as I recall, their products were good, but not necessarily inexpensive (we used to get these breaded mushrooms at the holidays) but there were really no other options. Kind of sad, but given the shift in how/where Americans buy food, it's a wonderful they've held on this long
