JLo’s film of Kiss of the Spider Woman might be out by Christmas?

I think it’s possible. There was a research screening of it less than two months after it wrapped in Uruguay. I suspect they feel the need to get ahead of the shit which will no doubt splatter on JLo in the coming months due to her longtime “association” with Sean Puffy Combs. JLo apparently is not only one of the producers she bankrolled the film herself.

Another bomb.

by Anonymousreply 1October 6, 2024 12:20 AM

Speaking of movies that didn't need to be re-made...

by Anonymousreply 2October 6, 2024 12:21 AM

Her spiderpussy stinks

by Anonymousreply 3October 6, 2024 12:23 AM

Please let it bomb so that her humiliation can be complete and total.

by Anonymousreply 4October 6, 2024 12:35 AM

It's not a remake of the movie, r2. Although it's easy to make that mistake.

[quote]Condon’s ‘Kiss of the Spider-Woman,’ which wrapped filming in June, based on Manuel Puig’s 1976 novel, was first released as a film in 1985. Directed by Hector Babenco, it garnered critical acclaim and received four Oscar nominations, including for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor, the latter category won by the film’s lead, William Hurt.

Sonia Braga is laughing from somewhere...

by Anonymousreply 6October 6, 2024 1:15 AM

Sonia Braga is getting fucked by a bunch of strangers on a bus!

by Anonymousreply 7October 6, 2024 1:42 AM

She gives herself so much credit for being mediocre.

by Anonymousreply 8October 6, 2024 2:20 AM

This story is indecent and should be banned-the idea…

by Anonymousreply 9October 6, 2024 2:25 AM

[quote]There was a research screening of it less than two months after it wrapped

And nothing leaked out about it?

by Anonymousreply 10October 6, 2024 2:50 AM

Is it the musical?

by Anonymousreply 11October 6, 2024 3:05 AM

Yes, R13, it is. Shot on soundstages in New Jersey and on location in Ecuador. Diego Luna plays the Raul Julia role.

by Anonymousreply 12October 6, 2024 3:29 AM

Oops, I meant Uruguay.

by Anonymousreply 13October 6, 2024 3:30 AM

r11 - yes.

Ain’t she a bit long in the tooth for this shit?

by Anonymousreply 15October 6, 2024 9:31 AM

If this cunt fucks up dear Chita's musical, my hate for her will move from passive to active.

by Anonymousreply 16October 6, 2024 9:37 AM

At least Rita Moreno didn't do the movie.

I remember listening to the cast album and only liking the title song I think also known as And the Moon Grows Dimmer.

The Morphine Tango is a real toe tapper.

by Anonymousreply 19October 6, 2024 5:20 PM

A friend of mine worked on it as a townsperson and she said they had to learn the lyrics to “The Day After That” and then filmed in close-ups singing it and still didn’t get an upgrade to a principal contract.

by Anonymousreply 20October 6, 2024 7:14 PM

Kiss of the Spider Woman was an awful Broadway musical, and JLo is next to Madonna as far as starring in nothing but shitty flops.

Who on earth is this audience for this crap?

by Anonymousreply 21October 6, 2024 7:19 PM

LIZA!

The lead is played by Tonatiuh who has nothing on Google.

by Anonymousreply 23October 8, 2024 11:26 PM

Hated the movie-trash.

by Anonymousreply 24October 10, 2024 10:51 PM

Let this film be her MAIM.

by Anonymousreply 25October 11, 2024 12:47 AM

This is an awful time for her. Between the divorce and the Diddy mess she has a lot on her plate.

by Anonymousreply 26October 11, 2024 2:36 AM

I saw Vanessa Williams in the title role on Broadway. Brian Stokes Mitchell was Valentin. Despite the talent involved I don't remember being that impressed.

Expect an announcement this week that it’s coming out by Christmas.

Diego Luna said on The View this past week that he has an awful singing voice so will Valentin’s songs be dubbed?

by Anonymousreply 28October 13, 2024 7:16 PM

Just in time for zero Oscar nominations....

by Anonymousreply 29October 13, 2024 7:48 PM

Well, I’M gonna LOVE it!

by Anonymousreply 30October 13, 2024 9:29 PM

"Anything For Him" is a great song.

I love the melding of Williams, McGillin and Stokes' voices.

How are there no leaked photos or footage of this? Does it really exist?

Which Spider Woman is JLo playing?

Jessica Drew or Julia Carpenter?

Kiss of death?

by Anonymousreply 34October 19, 2024 3:02 AM

That's what Lo was missing, spiders. Do they crawl from her ears or out of her ass?

by Anonymousreply 35October 19, 2024 4:34 AM

R32 Yes. It really exists. The guy who plays Molina had some photos on his Instagram when filming and recording wrapped in NY. I believe they then went to Uruguay for awhile to shoot other scenes. I remember seeing a photo indicating John Kander was present for the recordings.

JLo had this to say about the film in May:

She demands attention ALWAYS. Ben found it exhausting.

by Anonymousreply 37October 19, 2024 5:43 AM

That pulled back hairstyle does her no favors.

I couldn't think of what his name was, but he goes by "Tonatiuh." Here's one of his photos with John Kander (now 97).

Tonatiuh is a cutie.

by Anonymousreply 40October 19, 2024 7:10 AM

Give it a rest, JLo. We're just not that into you.

by Anonymousreply 41October 19, 2024 7:48 AM

If they're slamming this film out, there's strong odds it will not be that great.

by Anonymousreply 42October 19, 2024 7:50 AM

[quote]That pulled back hairstyle does her no favors.

It's a shame to do all that and keep that hairdo.

by Anonymousreply 43October 19, 2024 8:05 AM

Why, would they remake this? It'll never match or even come close to the original. Especially with her involved.

by Anonymousreply 44October 19, 2024 11:32 AM

R44 It's not really a re-make. I don't believe anyone's ever filmed an adaptation of the 1993 Broadway musical written by John Kander and Fred Ebb.

by Anonymousreply 45October 19, 2024 8:51 PM

Oh god nobody wants to see this scat
