The people who care about this are dying off as we speak.

Paul Mescal and Barry Keoghan

Who did they fuck? They are overexposed.

by Anonymousreply 2October 2, 2024 7:39 PM

R2: The right people.

by Anonymousreply 3October 2, 2024 7:41 PM

Another mundane biopic.

by Anonymousreply 4October 2, 2024 7:46 PM

R4 incorrect. This isn’t one film. It’s 4 films that interconnect. That alone keeps it from being “mundane”

by Anonymousreply 5October 2, 2024 7:48 PM

There are so many movies, videos, film clips, and tv appearances available of the actual Beatles out there I don't have any interest in "reenactments". Seems a strange thing to make films about.

by Anonymousreply 6October 3, 2024 3:51 AM

Can’t be better than The Rutles.

by Anonymousreply 7October 3, 2024 5:10 AM

They might as well have cast women or dogs, for as little resemblance this crew has to the originals.

by Anonymousreply 8October 3, 2024 8:50 AM

Beatles SO WHITE!

by Anonymousreply 9October 3, 2024 8:53 AM

It's a pretty transparent cash grab. A "cinematic universe" is a marketing platform. The Beatles' widows and heirs (and I guess Paul) want to keep their records and videos and whatever else selling for the next 20 years and this is how they are doing it.

The fug four

Jesus

by Anonymousreply 11October 3, 2024 10:06 AM

MEGA-BARF

by Anonymousreply 12October 3, 2024 12:13 PM

so fucking sick of that hideous Barry Keoghan

by Anonymousreply 13October 3, 2024 12:14 PM

So Mescal as John Lennon, Dickinson as Paul McCartney, Rowe as George Harrison, Keoghan as Ringo Starr?

I can see it. Look, I get that younger people are sick of Boomer shit, but The Beatles were a bonafide phenomenon worldwide. Incredibly influential as artists, musicians, personalities and tastemakers. Several generations that followed were raised on their music from childhood.

It’s an ambitious, promising idea, but like any project, depends on the material (scripts) and execution.

by Anonymousreply 14October 3, 2024 1:05 PM

Poor Ringo. Shafted again.

by Anonymousreply 15October 3, 2024 1:06 PM

There;s no such thing as overexposed.

by Anonymousreply 16October 3, 2024 1:07 PM

R14 are you slow? In what world would Harris Dickinson resemble Paul McCartney over John Lennon? You must be the retard born in 2005. Mescal is McCartney and Dickinson is Lennon.

by Anonymousreply 17October 3, 2024 1:50 PM

Were their lives even that interesting?

by Anonymousreply 18October 3, 2024 2:24 PM

Will Chrissy grant Pon a leave of absence so she can play Yoko?

by Anonymousreply 19October 3, 2024 2:24 PM

Are these films really necessary? The story of the Beatles has been told a million times.

by Anonymousreply 20October 3, 2024 2:41 PM

Horrible casting. The Beatles were all mostly attractive.

by Anonymousreply 21October 3, 2024 4:18 PM

All four actors are more attractive than any of the Beatles

by Anonymousreply 22October 3, 2024 4:21 PM

[quote]Sam Mendes will…

and I’m out.

by Anonymousreply 23October 3, 2024 4:51 PM

I guess after Universal/Warner Bros. had a smash hit with the ELVIS biopic a few years ago, the British want to try to multiply that success by four.

by Anonymousreply 24October 3, 2024 5:07 PM

R21 No they weren't

by Anonymousreply 25October 3, 2024 5:17 PM

Harris Dickinson is delicious.

by Anonymousreply 26October 3, 2024 5:32 PM

R24 the British? It’s being made by Americans.

by Anonymousreply 27October 3, 2024 5:54 PM

I'm a big Beatles fan. It's certainly an intriguing idea. However, I don't know that I'm going to see four movies. I'll definitely go to the Paul one and the John one. Probably not the George or Ringo ones.
