"New Jersey Tomatoes $1.99 a pound."

If I had known how hard it was going to be to find edible tomatoes elsewhere, I might never have left New Jersey.

And if I'd gone to Rutgers, my dog might not have died during the first semester of my freshman year. Of grief? That's what my father thought. Chip would sit at the door to my bedroom waiting for me, eventually lying down to sleep on the floor instead of on my bed (as he had since we brought him home as a puppy).

And then there'd've been Springsteen. And eventually The Sopranos.
