Anti-sex. Anti-drinking. They don't go out. They have zero sex lives. What gives?
Why are Gen Zers such miserable, humorless prudes?
by Anonymous | reply 69 | October 2, 2024 4:52 AM |
It's the result of helicopter parenting.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 28, 2024 8:39 AM |
They spend all day online accusing each other of moral crimes. I saw Goody Proctor drinking Starbucks! She supports genocide!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 28, 2024 9:02 AM |
Prenatal Internet Exposure.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 28, 2024 9:03 AM |
I'm a millennial who, in retrospect, came of age during a hideously, grotesquely, pornified era that literally made superstars out of (consensually, or nonconsensually) released sextapes (Paris, Kim K., et al.).
I'm not applauding their attitude, but at the same time, I don't blame them for it, either.
"Sex-positive" has become lingo for "the most competitively depraved, cynical attitude towards human sexuality imaginable."
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 28, 2024 9:06 AM |
I hope they all have children who make Patsy and a look like girl scouts.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 28, 2024 9:11 AM |
They are so lame.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 28, 2024 9:24 AM |
R1 This. These are people who weren’t allowed to go outside alone.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 28, 2024 9:45 AM |
The Chapell Roan fans are currently lecturing us about how great Reagan was to gay people. Dear gawd.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 28, 2024 9:57 AM |
My brother has three of them - two well into their 20s. They show no interest in leaving home - ever!
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 28, 2024 10:29 AM |
It's so cute to watch all you grandpas not understand that there are different ways to enjoy your life and to conduct your life.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 28, 2024 10:31 AM |
They like to dance on the tiktoks
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 28, 2024 3:23 PM |
R10 the point is the enjoyment seems to be rather lacking. Prove me wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 28, 2024 8:33 PM |
Well, there are ways to enjoy life r10, but puritanism never has been and never will be one of them. The whole point of puritanism is to never enjoy life, only to endure it.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 28, 2024 8:37 PM |
Who in the fuck are you to label what they're doing as puritanism? What a bunch of projecting, projectile nonsense.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 28, 2024 8:40 PM |
Go fuck someone r14. Also have a damn drink and shut the fuck up, you silly twat.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 28, 2024 8:43 PM |
Just take the L, you whiny prick.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 28, 2024 8:44 PM |
Somehow, this may be the set of attitudes needed in a world of diminishing returns, a world with no social contract. People around them are giving up or being pushed out of society because they fell behind or couldn’t buy a house. AI and automation are driving uncertainty and they’re trying to find individuality and meaning in a commoditized global economy. Life will suck for a lot of people in the coming years, and maybe being prudish helps some of them feel more in control of their future.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 28, 2024 8:52 PM |
Boy. R16 is really doing a lot to dispel the humorless label.
Does anybody else notice that they're extremely defensive and can't handle any criticism? But they sure are the first to criticize everyone else.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 28, 2024 8:55 PM |
When a platonic touch on the shoulder is considered tantamount to a sexual assault, it takes a while to negotiate consent.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 28, 2024 9:07 PM |
They're boring but I'm looking forward to their kids (well the few of them that aren't too afraid of sex and touching enough to eventually get laid) rebelling against them and start slutting and drinking up a storm and enjoying the good life like their grandparents did.

Its the legalization of weed, Rose.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 28, 2024 9:16 PM |
Why go out when I can live in mom's basement until I'm 60?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 28, 2024 9:19 PM |
There's got to be a subset of Gen Zers who don't fit OP's mold, right? Never to late to enjoy life.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 28, 2024 9:23 PM |
I was going to watch the Discovery+ documentary on the Menendez brothers, only to discover it’s a bunch Gen Zers claiming they’re innocent. Good lord they’re a stupid bunch. Gullible and stupid.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 28, 2024 9:27 PM |
Is that pronoun nonsense slowly dying off? I'd imagine it makes it even harder to communicate. It's easier to ignore everybody and keep your eyes glued to your cell phone.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 28, 2024 9:28 PM |
OP gets no interest as he jiggles around the locker room naked and thinks that means Gen Z aren't fucking. No, they just don't want to fuck you.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 28, 2024 9:30 PM |
They're prudes because sex and partying requires interaction with other humans. They only interact with a QR code because it doesn't make them anxious.
I worry that these are the people that'll have to change my diaper when I'm 90. 😧

Fetal iPhone Syndrome
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 28, 2024 9:43 PM |
To be fair, you do avoid all possible conflict when you avoid interaction.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 28, 2024 9:44 PM |
r27 Thanks for showing up what an idiot you are
[quote]one in four Gen Zers (anyone born between 1997 and 2012) have never engaged in partnered sex
Meaning 75% - the overwhelming majority - have. And yet, with the complete lack of logic we've come to expect from boomers, you declare the minority applies to the entire generation.
Your link also doesn't provide any comparison to the stats for other generations. And this is all based on a sample size of 2000, done for a sex toy company, via an online poll. In other words, absolute statistical garbage.
But hey, it gives boomers another ragebait way to whine about young people. Of course, they then try to avoid explaining why they're so interested in the sex lives of people decades younger than they are.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 28, 2024 9:45 PM |
Oh and
[quote]anyone born between 1997 and 2012
Take a think about those dates and try and work out why a good portion of them aren't fucking yet.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 28, 2024 9:51 PM |
R32 Not a boomer lol. Now go cry and invent a new gender to feel better if you need to.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 28, 2024 10:28 PM |
They're also TERRIFIED of an unannounced phone conversation!
How DARE you call them!
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 29, 2024 12:14 AM |
OP, Boomers and Gen Xers vote for racist, nativist, and anti-LGBT politicians like Donald Trump
Gen Z and millennials will vote to protect LGBT rights. Older people with side with GOP hatemongers
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 29, 2024 12:20 AM |
Of course boomers invented gay rights, really, but yes, these days it probably is more common among the young than the old.

by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 29, 2024 12:59 AM |
I don’t fault them. They were brought into and grew up into a pretty fucked up and historically crazy world.

Breaking News *It's always been a crazy fucked up world*
by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 29, 2024 2:28 AM |
I believe it's a combination of isolation, lack of sense of community or connectedness while simultaneously always being virtually connected to get bombarded with constant critique, making them neurotic messes who are also either: homeschooled with faux-education, or are familiar with and used to active shooter drills. In addition to typically having parents who are not trying to be parents, but friends, while bulldozing obstacles out of their way, (sounds good, but it reiterates their feeling of inadequacy).
Being young today sucks.

They live their lives on cell phones.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | September 29, 2024 7:51 PM |
I see a lot of blankness, humorlessness. And a strange bent toward watching others like a hawk: spying, tattling and ostracizing. As if the way to get ahead in life is cancelling others. They will never, EVER help you or do a favor.
And they somehow think their youth is currency. When they just waste it staring into a screen anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | September 29, 2024 10:33 PM |
OP exposed himself to a 19 year old, and the truth fairy then came knocking
by Anonymous | reply 47 | September 29, 2024 10:36 PM |
R47 Oh look, another Gen Z trope. Everybody wants to sexually assault them. Oh wait, excuse me. SA. They're too triggered to type it all out.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | September 29, 2024 11:12 PM |
r48 Why do you care so much if Gen Z are fucking or not, then?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | September 29, 2024 11:28 PM |
R49 Gen Z needs to get a life before they think they can come for older generations.
Gen Z is also aging like shit.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | September 29, 2024 11:37 PM |
Why are Gen Zers such miserable, humorless prudes?
Anti-sex. Anti-drinking. They don't go out. They have zero sex lives. What gives?

It was not at all unusual in the past few generations for some teenagers to be sexually active at the age of 13 or 14 (and not just in Appalachia).
by Anonymous | reply 52 | September 29, 2024 11:57 PM |
r50 Was that your attempt at a comeback? Probably best to get your carer to put you to sleep. Ideally in the animal sense.
r52 Expert on that, are you?
by Anonymous | reply 53 | September 30, 2024 12:16 AM |
Poor Gen Z. They cant handle any criticism at all without being defensive or melting down.
Isn't it too bad for them that they have another 10 years of this to look forward to?
by Anonymous | reply 54 | September 30, 2024 12:21 AM |
I hope they enjoy entry level jobs and minimum wage in the meantime.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | September 30, 2024 12:22 AM |
r54 An even weaker attempt at a comeback than before. Maybe DL isn't the place for you.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | September 30, 2024 2:34 AM |
This wasn't witty, compelling, or cute the thousandth time we did this, but I guess people who are bitter about aging can't help themselves.
Personally, I'm just glad the kids aren't dying of AIDS much anymore so they can annoy the shit out of us. They're far better than a lot of you abusive, repetitive, intellectually lazy assholes who forget what a fucking privilege it is for us to grow old.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | September 30, 2024 3:32 AM |
R57 who the hell are you to be calling anybody else an asshole? You sound like a real cunt yourself.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | September 30, 2024 3:35 AM |
Are there any Gen Z-ers actually here? Somehow I doubt it lol.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | September 30, 2024 3:38 AM |
I doubt it, R59. It's probably their parents fighting their battles for them. As usual.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | September 30, 2024 3:39 AM |

I shall block this thread, and I bid you all adieu.

by Anonymous | reply 65 | September 30, 2024 8:55 AM |
r64 doesn't understand the difference between voting intention and actually having voted. Tell us what the results of an actual election show us.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | September 30, 2024 5:52 PM |
R65 No, they'd call the offending party a pick-me.
