I'm sorry, but Mr. Jimmy is not dyin' on October 1st. He will live until October 16th. Early voting in Georgia starts on October 15th and he's gonna vote and t hen die. It's going to be wonderful homegoing for him.

If it was truly him who stated that goal (and not his family), then I think he'll make it. But he'll go immediately afterward. I just hope that, whenever he goes, he leaves with a sense of satisfaction and completeness with the life he lived. I don't share his faith, but I am sure he is looking forward to being reunited with Rosalynn again.

Why did they schedule the Vice-Presidential debate for October 1st, the same day as President Carter's 100th Birthday? It seems to me that the organizers could have let Jimmy have the day to himself.
