I find him the most exciting director since Kubrick
I haven’t seen Inherent Vice and HATED The Master but like or love all his other films. Went to a q&a for Licorice Pizza and he was sweet and humble as people gushed over his films. My favorite is Magnolia. Julianne Moore should have gotten a supporting Oscar for it-she was fantastic!

Punch-drunk Love was my favorite for a long time but now it's Phantom Thread, which I watch every New Years. Its understanding of long-term relationships is profound and funny

Magnolia is my favorite but There Will Be Blood is both his best movie and one of the best movies ever made.

I think part of what I like about him is his films demand repeat viewings. Always something new to see. Polanski is like this too as was Kubrick.

I picked Magnolia but each one is a masterpiece, except for maybe Inherent Vice.

I loved Inherent Vice. Maybe you need to watch it a few times to appreciate it. It reminded me of The Long Goodbye mixed with Harper and The Maltese Falcon
